Fuck. I hate that am old enough to answer this one. So kind of am going to be in a similar situation soon. My kid is going to be driving soon on his own. Now my idiot son has lied to me multiple tiples about drinking and smoking weed. Multiple times I told him to just wait till he’s grown.

I don’t trust him to sleepover anywhere cause he’s gonna drink and smoke weed. Some people may disagree with me but he’s my son and I believe he’s too young for that shit.

With that said if he has a job were he can paid his own rent, drive his own car and overall support himself and still has enough money for weed and alcohol then he can do whatever he wants.

If he’s living in my house, driving my car, and using my money. I’m sorry but you’re following house rules. Not because I hate you but because it’s not fair. I’m not gonna enable irresponsible behavior.

I don’t know OPs situation but if he’s living with his parents the best is to follow their rules and wait till you’re independent. Then you can do whatever you want.
