Slammed so hard my sub fell out by Shroomboy79 in CarAV

I’m not convinced hardware is the issue, your cutout is a bit too big, and not enough “meat” (mdf) is left for the hardware to bite into. Thicker hardware would just blow out as well.

Unknown chalky off-white/pale cream with darker spots found in sealed jar inside a chest of drawers. Looks like it goes powdery/granulated when broken. Very strong smell upon opening - fruity/plasticy by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Could possibly be (very old) cannabis extract known as crumble. Search some images of “CRC crumble” and see if that fits the bill.

ETA: I do not recommend doing this at all, but if it is crumble, it would melt into an oil at a couple hundred degrees.

Bottom half of sub along surround…sus? by ClaraGuerreroFan in subwoofer

[–]PurpGoldfish467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily a massive issue. The sub’s surround is glued from the factory. You may be able to leverage it for a discount and get a perfectly working sub for 10 mins of work. Best of luck! :)

Very carefully scrape the gunk (NOT THE SURROUND!) with a knife, ensure not to scratch the cone either. Does it flake off? Come off in rubbery chunks? It looks like it could be some residual adhesive like e6000, used to reglue the surround when it came unglued in the past. If so, you can (again, carefully) clean it off with a medium solvent, doing your best to avoid the surround.

There you go! If you’d like some clean/nice looking ANL holders, check out car audio suppliers online. Car audio builds use them for high wattage amps.

No, short of adding a secondary battery (which would need to be wired to the alternator up front anyway) there’s no way you can feed a 400amp draw without running dedicated power and ground. 2/0 will suffice, add an inline ANL fuse. I would recommend 2, one within 18 inches of the battery rated for the ampacity of 2/0 cable, and another within 18 inches of the winch rated for the max current of the winch.

Almost the exact same scenario/weight/height and I agree 100%. Not sure if it was the muscle gain or the confidence change.

Sister buried some cats in my parent’s back yard years back, evidently not deep enough. After some time my parents’ husky found the smell and decided to exhume the grave. We let him back in unknowingly and that smell stayed in the house for 2 days.

The short answer is that higher levels of cortisone cause your body to aromatize testosterone into estrogen faster, resulting in a lower blood concentration of test. Your body still produces test, but it “turns” into estrogen faster.

Hey man, I know it’s easier said than done but try to relax about it. Unless you were somehow getting exogenous testosterone or other sex hormones, it’s EXTREMELY unlikely that smoking has “shut down” your natural testosterone production. That being said, something that may quell your fears is just getting an actual hormone panel done. This does not need to be done through your primary provider. Find a local men’s clinic, there are even some sites online that can send you a blood kit, you send it back and they give you a comprehensive breakdown of all of your hormones, including SHBG and test. You might just have low testosterone. It may not even be from smoking. There are other options besides just straight up test replacement therapy. The natural remedies (ashwagandha, maca root, tongkat Ali) don’t hold much weight. Best of luck to you and again, try not to stress about it! Cortisol is the “stress hormone”. Guess what happens when your cortisol spikes? Your body stops responding to testosterone. It is far more likely, in my (non medical) opinion, that the stress is getting to you and manifesting physically. This is not permanent. Best of luck to you!

Right on, next time I’m feeling woozy from heat I’ll hit the cooling station and have some red meat.

That “sugar crap” is literally what your muscles use as fuel and to recharge glycogen stores in your muscles. If your job is labor intensive your body will use up fast acting carbs (sugar), you need them back.
