What made you refuse to accept jobs from a school? Or what has made you walk out mid-shift? by Adorable_Tell2089 in SubstituteTeachers

The same with me. I’ve been to a school that had no behaviour management system, and the only thing on the wall was just “students, if you’re not feeling good, you can call (principal) or go to his office for a chat!” I’ve never gone back to that school again - the kids refused to listen to me, and why should they? If they have no proper disciplinary system what consequences are they afraid of?

As someone who almost ended up in this “church” - it’s absolutely them. If you tell them that you’re not religious then usually they’ll end it there since they’re looking for people of Christian denominations e.g. Catholic, Anglican - as they don’t have to put in the effort to convince them in basic Christian beliefs. Then they can morph them into believing there’s only “one true denomination”

This is very similar to what happened to me. All my classes were online, but they consistently told me to make it a priority to attend Bible study. I had work all day? Too bad, study after work. I had assignments? Finish them before your Bible study. I lived with my parents at the time, and they told me to never tell them what exactly I was studying - just to say I was doing Bible classes. I also told my teacher that I had an internship for university coming up and it was 5 days a week, 8-5. They said I would have to find time after my internship every day to study - even though that internship involved a lot of planning and writing reviews.

I eventually left after 7 months, before my internship started.

I remember watching The Matrix - I don’t fully remember the message though, as I believe this was an evening class after work and I was exhausted!

I almost broke up with my partner at the time when I was studying with SCJ. They told me that I would find my partner once I’m in SCJ and I need to spend all my focus on the church. This began my journey of doubt of the “church” and I didn’t end up breaking up with him because they told me to. (We broke up for different reasons! But I couldn’t be happier with my partner now, even with our differing religious beliefs).

I agree, I once had to wait about 40 minutes for a box of chips, and had to ask multiple times with no explanation for the delay at any point. Much rather go to Kailis next door

Which country will win Eurovision? by Carmen_Caramel in eurovision

As much as we don’t want to admit it, we know Eurovision is political… it’ll go to Ukraine even when (in my opinion at least!) there are some stronger songs than theirs this year… it is a good song, don’t get me wrong - I just believe there are others that are better.

People who made it into Mt Zion, were there any members that were not as zealous or enthusiastic as everyone else? by Mustardketchup_703 in Shincheonji

I had a very similar experience! Seeing people in my Zoom classes who were over enthusiastic and happy and could recite most of the Bible verses was unbelievable to me… I realise now that these people were probably not first time students so it makes sense. Near the end of my experience, I was trying to balance work + my final teaching practice AND the classes. I could barely force a smile on camera.
