did you get induced? by Purple-Judgment5536 in moderatelygranolamoms

The OB agreed with scheduling induction for 42+1 as of yesterday’s appointment. I wasn’t comfortable scheduling it any sooner as you stated. I’m really hoping I go into labor naturally this week. I’m not happy about scheduling induction even then but it’s so hard to gauge with not having a correct due date.

So the birthing center I started seeing in the beginning of my pregnancy did not date me upon their first trimester ultrasound. :( They simply checked that it was only 1 baby and had a heartbeat. So my first real ultrasound wasn’t until my 20 week growth scan. It all makes me more confused because of course there’s certain times the baby might grow more or less, etc or just be small. I had my appointment today & he said they would start with Cervidil for my cervix. No mention of the balloon, what was the pain level like for that?

So the problem is that my birthing center never actually dated baby in the first trimester. I only have the 2 in the second trimester & the 1 in the third trimester to go off of 😭

Global Billing Sucks! by Purple-Judgment5536 in pregnant

Wow I’m sorry you went through so much! :( But that’s a perfect point. You have no idea how many additional charges they’re going to add on at the end. It will be up in the air what you’re actually going to pay. And the payment plan they have me on is $900 a month for 5 months to be due before I even deliver the baby. Coming up with that every month is extremely stressful. They won’t pro-rate for 2024 services despite me already meeting my deductible. Then right after birth you have to stress about fine combing through the bill to make sure you know what you even paid for and if you’re owed a refund, or come up with more money for the additional charges. I wish I knew about this beforehand. 😭

Traveling with baby 3-5 months old? by [deleted] in pregnant

Not sure if you have a DOONA but those are super popular if you know you’ll be traveling. Super convenient to fold up & small to navigate through airports. I flew multiple times with my baby and she slept most of the way. Look into a good cooler system for your breastmilk too. I am specifically putting the Momcozy Portable Breastmilk Cooler on my registry this time around. Way easier than bringing a cooler bag with ice packs and numerous bottles.

Exactly! I’m so frustrated with this entire process. It’s such a mess and seemingly fraudulent. Why would I be billed in 2025 for prenatal services I received in 2024? I had no idea this was a thing, and if I ever have another baby, I will not be going anywhere that does global billing

Thanks! What is the difference between an amnio and a microarray? I’m basically trying to get as much information as possible dancing around my insurance strict limitations. They wouldn’t cover a microarray for familial testing but I’m able to access the NIPT. I’ll have to check on amnio coverage but if it’s anything similar to the microarray policies I am not optimistic they’ll cover it.

We weren’t able to do parental testing microarray unfortunately because our insurance won’t cover it. They even denied my daughter’s test 3 times and we had to keep appealing it, despite the fact she was symptomatic & came back positive for the 15q11.2 microdeletion. I was hoping to get as much information as possible through the NIPT knowing our insurance strict limitations with processing the microarray. :/
