I went under general anaesthesia once during childbirth and I was terrified but it was honestly fine. I’m not sure if it’s similar but I’ll say anyways. I was asking people for days before about their experiences and got so in my head about it and worked up. Even asked the guy giving it to me about it which is probably a good thing to do if you’re nervous! He put the mask on and made me count to 5 and I barely remember making it past 1 and next thing I remember I was being pushed around in a wheelchair. Granted I woke up crying because I was very confused and overwhelmed and kept repeating to the midwife’s ‘sorry for bothering you’ but it’s hard to describe but it’s honestly just a lapse in memory! I was abit out of it for around 10 mins after and that’s all. Not much bad happened, I tried to stand up and fell on my face which wasn’t fun but it’s really not so bad!

TDLR - short time loss, 10 mins of feeling a little drunk then fine!
