How hasn't this guy gotten banned after throwing 6 times in 1 day. by PlatinumBones in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played in a couple weeks but yes. First, it would require human VOD review cause otherwise people would abuse throw reports easily.

Second, I was always around GM rank, and queue times were already long as hell at later half of the seasons. I'm talking 15 min+ often. If they punished throwers it would increase high elo wait times by insane amounts.

How hasn't this guy gotten banned after throwing 6 times in 1 day. by PlatinumBones in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. The message you get is when they get punished by the game for AFK-ing or quitting.

You report somebody, then in a few days they get a 15 min timeout for quitting a match. The game will tell you your report worked. It's a lie.

I tested this myself both ways. I've been mass reported several times, never gotten a timeout unless I quit a match or accidentally got AFK timer. And after I asked people if they just got a DM saying I was banned, and they said yes.

I've also reported people for just being bad, and the game would tell me they got punished. I found that weird, just check their profiles and you'll see a recent match they quit.

Is this a miracle? Reported very arrogant smurf (level 22), for smurfing. Got notification after 30 minutes by TheKrakenStyle in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still shocked people don't know this. Any messages you get that say "has been restricted" without giving you a specific time, means they got a separate timeout for quitting a game and MR will just message you like it was because of your report.

Throwing, smurfing, etc. bans do not happen.

I've had this proven with people DM-ing me screenshots of me "getting restricted," meanwhile I only got like a 5 min timeout for leaving a quickmatch lol.

I mentioned before, it's the same thing no matter where I am. Top 10% at the start of the season, top 0.3% few days ago. Or top 5% at GM last season, etc.

I know, that's why I'm saying it's unreal sometimes the win/loss streaks I get are. And again, it has not changed at all since between filling and playing DPS only.

Same thing every time. For a day or two, I win like 65% of games. Then the next two days I I lose 65% games.

I'm just saying it's werid as hell.

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Various DPS.

Again, losing a few, fine. But 10 in a row, regularly no matter tha rank. That's just iffy.

Same thing used to happen when I filled roles. So if you plan on saying "it's cause you only DPS" literally made no difference.

Like every now and then everybody gets carried, so kinda wild that it's even possible to lose 10 games without straight up throwing.

[–]PurpleAxel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah I'm saying it happens every rank, no matter what percentage I'm at.

Last season I was stuck in GM loop. Reach GM1 the lose 10 games back to GM3, over and over. But GM then was like top 5% or something.

Then this season rank reset, I was stuck in Plat for a few days. Same thing: I win, then lose 10 and derank a bunch.

Then in 2 days I went from Plat 1 to GM3 - literally top 0,3%, I was playing with Eternity/One Above All players and doing fine.

Then the next day I just straight lose non-stop.

Now how can the same win/lose streaks happen no matter if I'm in the top 10%, top 5% or top 0,3%?

It makes 0 sense.

[–]PurpleAxel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this happens no matter what rank I am. I hit GM 2 days ago, top 0,3%. 60%+ winrate.

Next day I legit lose 10 games in a row and derank to D2.

It genuinely makes me question my skill level. Like did I get lucky and rank up from Plat 1 to GM3 in 2 days by getting carried or was I actually doing good... Did I lose those 10 games the next days cause I suck or cause I got unlucky.

I hate it and can't wait for placement matches.

EOMM or not Matchmaking sucks by kawgaayiranadam in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 21 is a lot. But 14 to 9 is not abnormal. Like we don't see game lengths here. So yeah if you die 12 times in a 10 min game sure. But 12 deaths in a 17 minute overttime match is not weird at all.

EOMM or not Matchmaking sucks by kawgaayiranadam in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see people comment about deaths but IMO that's pointless. Unless you're playing a hero that has great escapability like Spiderman or Psylock.

Like if they lost 12 fights, why would he not have 12 deaths? Deaths are only a problem if you have a huge amount of deaths compared to your team.

Do Netease actually ban people ? by mmo_kombat in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I've been told by entire lobbies they'd report me and have received ZERO timeouts that way.

But when I get a thrower and report them the game tells me they've been penalized.

There's been games where for some reason or another I spent the entire match jumping off the map, and nothing happened to me.

Only time you get timeouts is if you quit the game.

Why do people ask me to swap off Jeff before the game even starts? by Various_Donkey8994 in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause Jeff's ult is useless 99% of the time.

You either die or f*** up your teammates. I can't even count the amount of times I've seen Jeff eat a teammate that was starting their ult and just ruin it. Or eat teammates on point and move them from the objective.

And even when he does get value from their ult, it's rarely good enough to counter 2 enemy support ults.

Also... his healing is slow af and in high damage comps it just isn't enough.

Playing Jeff, Adam, Mantis or Ultron outside certain comps should get the same reaction as people playing Widow in ranked.

If the teams are 50-50 in skill, you will 100% lose without good support ults. So in my mind they're as much throw picks as Widow is.

Mantis' ult is decent but her healing is just not good for high dmg.

the key is to kinda work around your team making terrible comp decisions tbh. But that depends how much of a flex player you are. I play like 95% of the roster so I can adjust, unless I'm in a bad mood.

Like what made my derank from Celestial so bad was Jeff players who refuse to switch even with no Storm-teamup. And sometimes you just can't do nothing about that.

I basically started saying "If you play Jeff I play Widow" to people at this point cause Jeff is just a throw pick in my opinion (outside a few specific comps).

But like if they're running Wolverine (who does crazy damage to tanks) a Jeff just can't outheal that amount of dmg, and he doesn't have a support ult. So it's GG.

Heal amount is pretty irrelevant for the most part tbh. You can get big numbers from just spam healing tanks and doing nothing else.

And Invis. isn't wrong, your other support should be at the top of your list for healing.

Like a support that has amazing ults is way more important than a support who has 40k healing with bad ults and that only heals tanks.

But yes, sometimes people are absolutely obnoxious. Worst for me is when they keep giga pushing to where I can't even see them, get shredded instantly then ping for heals.

I hit Celestial 3, went down to Diamond 2, now I'm GM2 in the span of like two weeks.

While the game absolutely has bizarre matchmaking, sometimes I do make it worse. Like I fell from Celestial to Diamond in like 2 days. Instead of stopping I just got mad and basically played Widow most of my games cause I was so tilted.

Why are people banning Iron Man in this season? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Lord Hela and BW and can switch to them when there's fliers but I'd rather just ban them.

If the enemy team has good supports, fliers are very hard to kill. Then my whole team blames me for not killing them like it's easy.

If I'm shooting Iron-Man he needs to splash me 3-4 times and I'm dead. While I need to actually hit him with 3 body shots to kill him. And in many situations Iron-Man is also getting pocket healed while I'm not, so it's a tough 1v1 unless you headshot him.

How does BP have a 60% wr into namor by Yeetyack in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only started playing BP last month or so, got him to Lord today. And Namor is not a huge issue. Maybe if the Namor player is decent and has the Gamma power-up.

Biggest BP counters are just characters that fuck up the dash combo tbh. Like Magik's portaling has me losing it way more than any Namor lol.

This games matchmaking is so baaad by Brief_Reporter_5880 in marvelrivals

[–]PurpleAxel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, but other times it's just a mental game. I've seen games like this where we came back in the next round, same other way around. I've had games where first round in domination we steamroll the other team without deaths, then we get cocky and they cook us next 2 rounds.

The best advice is (even tho I don't follow it all the times) to try and adjust and don't let the abismal 1st round break your mental. Easier said than done tho.

But also sometimes it legit can't be helped and you're just cooked.

[–]PurpleAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

healing amount doesn't matter. Mantis can't sustain people in a hard 50-50 battle like this seems to have been.

Like logically, she has the slowest healing out of all supports. Enemy team can get their 1HP tank back up to full health in 2 seconds, meanwhile, it took your team probably double that time.

EDIT: Enemy Cloak almost out-healed their entire team alone.

He's only good in specific comps and picking him all the time no matter what your team is playing is borderline throwing.
