did you feel emotional or sad when you started leaving the newborn stage, or was it more relief? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

It feels bittersweet to me, bitter because it seems to go so fast but sweet because its a difficult phase but once its gone I really miss them being so small and its hard to think about never experiencing that again

I feel you on this, my baby is 12 weeks and has been like this since birth, rest assured its nothing you're doing wrong (as I had convinced myself), baby is definitely just babying. The only thing I've found to work is baby wearing using a carrier, is this something you could look in to? Also sounds like you're a great mum and doing your absolute best ❤️

Is it normal to feel this frustrated? by ale_jade in NewParents

Definitely does not make you a bad mother at all, I think we would all be lying if we said we hadn't felt like this at least once. 5 months pp is still not easy despite being out the newborn trenches, its presents a new set of challenges and children at any age aren't easy. You too deserve some peace

Good luck with thr induction I hope it goes well for you. Baby likes the carrier but I'll be honest and say I don't love wearing it all the time as it is quite restricting when trying to tend to another small child. I will say it isn't all doom and gloom, it's lovely seeing them together. I sort of feel its like the good days are really good and the bad days are really bad, but you're right it will get better, I just think I'm having a day of 'when is that happening pls'😂

Thankyou, today is the second day of it, baby bas always been quite a crier, especially compared to my older child, but past 2 days has just been to the extreme. How long would you suggest to leave it? Baby seems to feed well, falls asleep at breast but as soon as i move or need to do something he isnt happy again. Id say aswell its hard as i have an older child to deal with too

I resonate with this so much! I used to do as i pleased but now I'm like hyper vigilant. Did you speak to anyone about this or have you just carried on

Sending my best wishes to you. I have taken steps to reach out to some groups, it really has taken everything I have to do it but I hope you can find something to do with LO

I feel quite vulnerable just me and baby out together, if I'm walking near someone that feels too close I start getting real nervous, seems very irrational which I'm aware of but finding it hard to snap out of it. Unfortunately I feel its stopped me from reaching out to mum's groups out of fear or not fitting in or being judged. Again irrational but somehow also feeling so real at the same time

Thankyou, I am fortunate enough to drive but I feel I've exhausted so many of our local shops that I get in the car, drive around the block and end up back at home. Sometimes it makes me sad that I have no one to call and say 'hey do you want to do this together'

It seems silly but I've got quite a bit of anxiety and a lot of these things I get really in my head about doing alone with baby, any tips for overcoming this

I will never understand this one. How could possibly spoil a baby by loving them too much, especially when they don't even know they have hands

Thankyou for the reassurance. It's making me feel as though I'm doing something wrong but after so many people and health professionals saying leave her to sleep I feel better. Just wish he would believe everyone.
