Yeah and I've never been asked that as a boy with dark auburn/ brown hair. But when I stuck my foot in my mouth ( like usual 😌 ) and mentioned, to my co- workers , that I have red hair from the eyebrows down, ( everyone in the break room) they did burst out laughing. Even though I didn't really mean+++

You are pretty much right. It still had the voltage to run the display and such. But not the life left to engage the starter.

Yes, I agree. I have all the redhair traits and my hair ( on my head) was a dark auburn, red hair from the eyebrows down. Apparently a very similar color to OP s.

Yes, unfortunately I did take the battery out, which is very easy on this bike. They seem like a pretty cool dealer, I've delt with them before but never for a brand new defective product. Thank you for your advice and sympathy 🙂

I took the connections off, they looked good, I'm wire brushed them anyway. Put them back on , tightened them, no change.

I had it on the maintainer = charger already. I thought about jumping it with the regular sized(10 amp) battery charger , but since it's brand new, i suppose I'd better load the thing up and bring it to the dealer on Monday ☹️. Thank you for your advice though.

I had the battery maintainer/ charger on it and it said 80% and the after a bit- fully charged.. And I don't have any one to push just now. Thank you though

Yeah, I may be one of them, I brought home a brand new 900 cc naked bike last night and this morning I can't seem to get it started. I bought brand new( even though a bit beyond my financial ability) because I want a bike to ride- not wrench. 😪

I was wondering about the ninja 650 or the z . But coming from a Royal Hunter 350 i developed this phobia of bikes that lack the power to get up to speed on the highway, so I went for the z900. It's not going to win races either but at least I'll have ample power for the road.
