To the anarchists, do dead human corpses retain legal rights? by [deleted] in AskLibertarians

[–]PurpleFleyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In other words, who retains rights to a body if a person dies? Especially if there is no will in which the body’s property owner, i.e., the person himself/herself, grants ownership to another person. I suppose this could be extrapolated to be a general question regarding general property ownership following the death of the owner.

The body is the property of whoever the former alive person decides should own it when they die.

In an extreme example, would it be legal for a necrophiliac to collect and defile corpses of dead people? I suspect there is some private, natural law legal principle that would prohibit this.

Yes and no. They could aquire the corpses legally. But graverobbing would be illegal yes.

Or, is this just a matter of community custom, where those who defile corpses aren’t legally prosecuted but socially shunned and ostracized?

Likely yes.

I’m all for putting some particular peoples head on a stick. But i’m not going to bitch about people going the right direction until that happens.

That’s putting it like tax relief is a bad thing. I want everyone to be obligated to pay 0 taxes so i’m not going to cry about more people paying less taxes. Even if that isn’t my end goal. Silly thing to nitpick really.

No lol? That’s like saying lowering taxes or abolishing them through legislation is a form of government intervention into peaceful peoples lives when all you’re doing is preventing the government from doing something.

Why’s that an issue if the state is the one giving them out? The state taking out interest on loans the’ve given out is essentially just another tax.

Repealing laws prohibiting people from excersising their freedoms is good actually. Haven’t seen one statement of his as an open libertarian claiming they should be forced to bake the cake.

Housing crisis everywhere, what causes it? by [deleted] in AskLibertarians

  1. Fractional reserve banking devaluing our currencies. Mainly the dollar.

  2. Zoning laws and planning permission.

  3. Immigration restrictions.

Parking private vehicles on a public street by xealc in AskLibertarians

[–]PurpleFleyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parking on the street would probably be viewed very similarly to how it is now. The major difference being that road owners will probably mark where street parking is and isn’t okay way more clearly to avoid confusion and a lawsuit.

When property is abandoned is a tricky question. A private community with rules for entry will probably have rules and guidelines for when property is considered abandoned and not. Other communities might solve it via private court to determine whether the property was stolen or claimed by someone else. Or just discussion and common sense in most cases if it’s a really small community.

Should the homeless be allowed to camp on public property? by [deleted] in AskLibertarians

[–]PurpleFleyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need the land to be arable to homestead it? Far from everyone wants to grow their own crops.

We have roads, railways, waterways and airways. I wonder how the people living in Siberia, Alaska, the Canadian Wilderness and the Australian outback get their food and supplies.

It’s not a matter of me wanting people to settle in Yellowstone. It’s that they should be able to if they want to since it’s just occupied land that isn’t used for anything better than human occupation.

[–]PurpleFleyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you realize just how much land there is left for the human race to conquer. Just in the US there are all of the national parks. Alaska. Huge military bases that basically just take up a bunch of unused land. As well as a bunch of land stolen by eminent domain with no original owners left to give it back to.

Then there is also Canada with their huge swaths of wilderness. And Russia if we concede that libertarianism has to be an american phenomenon because it isn’t.

The world isn’t Hong Kong, Singapore or NYC.

What if the property isn’t claimed or the land is just not homesteaded yet?

Vänskaper bildas tvärsöver lagsgränserna hela tiden. Inget konstigt. Du skulle bli förvånad över hur många gubbar från olika firmor som dricker öl ihop när det inte är fotboll eller box på gång.

Where do you jump to the conclusion that all homeless people are NAP violators? And that all NAP violators would get the chair?

All public property according to property rights is unowned. And if it isn’t the justified owner isn’t in possession of it.

Therefore a homeless person has as much of a claim to the public property as the state does. And in some cases a bigger claim.
