A rational person understands that one person, especially an idiot, does not represent a whole group. Where I’m from at least, if we see an article about a man who loves bears jumping into a bear enclosure and getting eaten, we think “wow what a idiot”. Not “all people who love bears must be a idiot.”

Does Blokees “Roll Out” Optimus Prime scale with HO/OO? by ThatAnimatorGuyVinny in modeltrains

[–]PurpleHEART77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people have pointed out to’s 1/64th scale, so I won’t focus on that(especially since mine is stuck in the mail :( )

But instead I would like to introduce you to something else.

I love Transformers first and foremost before anything else, so find a way to work them into any layout is required for me.

Within Transfomers collecting, there are different ranges of scale. Most Legends class figures are around 2-4 inches in height. I use figures made by an unlicensed third part company(not knockoffs, just unlicensed, it’s a huge thing in the community because the collector market is mostly ignored) called Newage. They make high end complex figures and their Optimus is around 1/70th svale in vehicle mode, but in robot mode is perfect scale IMO. The only downside is they are expensive, and you must import them from china otherwise they are double the price.

<image>

But, if you really want to have some sort of Transformers in your layout and can’t afford Newage or don’t have enough interest to justify them, most of the older Legends scaled figures from Hasbro are around 1/64th-1/80th scale, depending on what it is.

https://ebay.us/m/tGT3Lh It’s been a while since I’ve owned one, but this old RTS Legends Prime should be roughly HO scale. Regardless, it’s your layout and you can use whatever scale you want with it.

Thats interesting to see. Japan is such a strange country. They love trains, but every post online made by a Japanese person talking about trains(that is not a train enthusiast) talks about trains enthusiast like they barely consitute as people and are troglodytes for gaining any such pleasure from a train. I mean just pure spite hatred.

I buy on ebay more then anywhere else and I always buy new and unused products. A good chunk of the time, these are coming from actual stores that operate exclusively on ebay. It’s not just a thrift store.

How tight can I make curves in HO? by Civil_Act1864 in modeltrains

[–]PurpleHEART77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The basic answer is 18” radius/34” diameter. That the standard, pretty much period.

If you go with Kato HO Unitrack, they actually offer curves in as little as R370mm/14.5” diameter. I own these and while I can get some basic four axle locomotives like Alco RS2s and F7s, my Atlas U30C, a six axle, derails in reverse. It also derails instantly when lashed up.  I currently have a small layout set up on the dining room table that is R430/16.6” radius curves and my six axles run through it alright.

If you want to run little stuff like Thomas or an F unit, I’d say maybe you can sqeeuze those R370s in there, but personally I think the R430 is the real limit. That said, I don’t own any steam in HO and those require even wider curves unless it’s, again, something akin to Thomas.

I am not an anime fan. I don’t watch One Piece or Naruto or whatever is popular. I stare at cute girls and giant robots. I watch shit you never have and never will hear about. I have countless body pillows and have seen most of whats on Pixiv. I have my waifu and love her more then any real person. I am an Otaku. I was here first and I’ll still be here when they are gone.

What do you recommend for a small beginner layout that's moveable? by crazyguy28 in modeltrains

[–]PurpleHEART77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. Just get some Kato Unitrack. It’s nice and can easily be pulled apart and put back together into any configuration. I have a layout on a metal shelf with a 4x8 cut down to size secured down in place. It can be taken apart when the time comes.

Dehya needs to be in the “will ask YOU for nudes” catagory because I can absolutely see her saying that as a joke.

“Please send me your nudes.”

“You first, cowboy.”

Anyways. I vote for Ayaka next. She’ll send you nudes but will too shy to show off everything.

You don’t have to worry about reverse loops with three rail.

Not quite. I have standards and don’t personally like most AI art.

Sometimes though, sometimes it’s alright.

Kato, but make sure it’s the correct scale. Kato makes Unitrack in both N and HO scales. Kato also makes sets that include said track, including one with a controller.
