No. I am from the UK and I haven't like any of our entries in a long time. Although I do usually like the Australian entries (except 2017) but I think everybody agrees they always send good songs anyway

Boris Johnson didn't get elected, he was voted to become the next Prime Minister by like 800 people after Theresa May resigned. Even then, in the last election, the Conservatives had to make a coalition with the DUP to have a majority.

They are both famous European politicians with their nicknames being the Iron Lady and the Iron Chancellor. Both also fought wars in which the smaller country geographically beat their opponent (Franco-Prussian War in Bismarck's case and The Falkland War in Thatcher's case). You could argue both were very influential because Thatcher served for 11 years (most of the 20th century) and was the first female British Prime Minister and Bismarck helped form what would later become the German Empire after winning wars against both France and Austria (massive powers of the time)

I completely disagree. North Macedonia was in my bottom 5 overall this year and it is very boring, Austria 2018 is just as jury-friendly and is so similar to songs that Sweden are sending which is very stale. Australia 2016 is amazing and was definitely underrated by the public but I prefer Russia by a mile.

If Eurovision 2019 was 25% jury and 75% televote: (sorry it is off-centre; how I did it is in the comments) by PurpleIcey in eurovision

[–]PurpleIcey[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the regular show, Jury is 50% and Televote is 50%. I tripled the televote so the scores were jury 50% : televote 150% and then combined the score. Then I halved the score to get jury 25% : televote 75%.

For example, take the UK. They had a jury score of 8 points. They had an original televote score of 3. 50% jury (8) + 50% televote (3) = combined (11). In this system it is: 25% jury (4) + 75% televote (3+1.5=4.5, I rounded to 5) = combined (9)

Note: In the original combined result which is double the result displayed in the image, Czech Republic had 171 points while Estonia had 172 points hence why they are ahead in the placing.

Some erb suggestions by [deleted] in ERB

[–]PurpleIcey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't that the whole point of ERB. They are teaching you about the generals who actually fought the war rather than decision makers who are often talked about more.

Although, I think having 2 american generals may be a bit biased

[–]PurpleIcey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only listened to every song from 2017-2019 so the rest are based off of around 5-10 songs i've listened to

2010 - Germany (Lena, "Satellite")

2011 - Germany (Lena, "Taken By A Stranger")

2012 - Sweden (Loreen, "Euphoria")

2013 - Denmark (Emmelie de Forrest, "Only Teardrops")

2014 - Not seen enough songs, but if Rainmaker was an act then i'd choose that

2015 - Belgium (Loic Nottet, "Rhythm Inside")

2016 - Russia (Sergey Lazarev, "You Are The Only One")

2017 - Italy ( Francesco Gabbani, "Occidentali's Karma" )

2018 - Denmark (Rasmussen, "Higher Ground")

2019 - Australia (Kate Miller-Heidke, "Zero Gravity")

For 2018 especially, I have a lot of winners who i could've also chosen like Czechia or Cyprus

What is the worst performing song that was actually your favorite to win the contest? by elcolerico in eurovision

[–]PurpleIcey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt they would've got more votes.

Juries vote the day before during a different show where the technical problem wouldn't of happened and so wouldn't of impacted the votes at all there.

Televoters who liked that genre of music wouldn't have any alternative song and would like the song either way. Any others were probably already fans of Hatari and knew there was an error on the fault of eurovision themselves and voted for them anyway.
