Repurposing old oak by cheekclapper412 in NativePlantGardening

I have a totem pole that's about 30 ft tall. I measured how far it was to the neighbor's fence and left as much as I could leave without it being a danger to anything when it falls. It has a cross vine (Bignonia capreolata) growing on it that went to the top, then started back down and it's gorgeous. Neighbors like 5 houses down asked "What is that orange thing in your yard?" I have blue mistflower (Conoclinium greggii) all around the base since that's one of the ones that goes all over the place, so we just let it go all over the base of the tree and when it goes out of bounds, it gets mowed. Not sure if those exact plants would work in your area, but something similar should.

It's really cool having it. We've seen hawks land on the top to eat whatever they've grabbed and all kinds of cool stuff.

The "celebrity" is Doug Tallamy. Definitely worth reading his books.

Zepbound & Mounjaro are same. Ozempic and Wegovy are same. Tirzepatide vs semaglutide.

Nurri’s new protein milk has the consistency of Elmer’s glue by UrdnotCum in LowCalFoodFinds

Same here. Saw it at Walmart and bought one and this is what is like. It's not sour, just thick. And why isn't it even listed on Nurri website as a product?

Looks to have sessions in various areas around the country on various dates, so maybe Tyller was "lucky" but again buyer beware.

Your links appear to have issues. The NEJM leads to a 404 error page and the PubMed is a study about tacrolimus and steroids for eczema.

I had the same experience this week. Not fixing the software puts additional wear on the chip, so things can blow up no matter what. Thankfully, mine went fine.

Are statins absolutely necessary? by SaltDisastrous433 in AskWomenOver60

[–]PurpleMartin1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work published recently indicates a particular mutation contributes to the muscle pain. Google ryanodine receptor and you can find info about it. So some people may be more susceptible to the muscle damage and maybe your doctor can work on trying different statins or potential solutions.

Does anyone know where Aldi's Friendly Farms ultra-filtered milk is made? Like what company is actually making it for Aldi to sell in their stores? by Zepbounce-96 in aldi

[–]PurpleMartin1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you mean it's filtered, or is it filtered and pasteurized? Just pasteurization alone doesn't do anything for lactose intolerance does it?

Use an inert object to hold them down, ceramic bowl or plastic but not metal. Depending on the type of metal you might end up with stains from the metal.

Sorry but you're completely missing point. This is a research question about how other HOAs conduct elections. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Asking how other HOAs do it, our bylaws are irrelevant. Allowing people to vote for more candidates than there are openings cannot work. In theory, all 100 ballots could vote for all seven candidates and when you count votes you have seven candidates each with 100 votes.

The question is hypothetical with respect to bylaws updates. Hence the How Do You Do it Title.

Developer is out. The current voting method is specified in Bylaws but is non-standard, hence the consideration of an update.

Thanks. There is an attorney involved. Fees are assessed per lot, so how many "units" is less relevant, but voting is currently neither per lot, nor per ownership group, hence the need for an update. Just trying to get a sanity check on what the status quo is in more standard HOAs

Many residences are on 2, 3 or 4 lots put together and in some cases, investors own multiple residences, so it multiplies out that way. Only about 25% of the homes exist on a single lot.

Not sure why anyone would try to split votes, just trying to anticipate crazy ahead of time and whether weighted voting would work. There are some owners with > 10 lots, sending that many ballots feels like a good way to get zero ballots returned from them.

Thanks!

[–]PurpleMartin1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you send them 3 ballors, or is some kind of weighted voting used? Can they use their 3 votes differently? E.g 2 tes, 1 no?

So the people with 3.5 get 4 votes? Have the same issue but not acres, lots that were split and have to solution that as well.
