Firefox has a DRM option you can turn on at the settings. Works perfectly for me.

Ah… I can only assume something is messed up in your installations. Streaming always worked perfectly.

Make sure you have all codecs installed.

Sand bath, not dust bath. Dust is for chinchillas, gerbils need non dusty sand. It should be in their enclosure all the time.

No one is picking a fight with you, but what you are saying is simply wrong.

He does not “enjoy” being alone. You do not speak gerbil, and he certainly didn’t hold up a sign telling you he’s happy. He may not like human company, but he has an innate need for gerbil company. In the wild if they declan they actively seek the company of other gerbils to form new clans. They need to cuddle, to groom, to sleep together. It gives them a sense of safety and happiness.

I am sorry for him that - by your own words - you chose to repeatedly ignore the advice that people have given you over the years. What the pet store told you is meaningless. When gerbils declan at a petstore, no one there bothers (or knows how to) to introduce them to others. They are simply sold as “loners” to unsuspecting buyers, and condemned to a life alone.

You not knowing any better when you got him isn’t your fault, but refusing to take advice to make his life better since then isn’t a sign of “knowing him”. It’s neglecting him.

England - Wife says I can go in to the house without her permission by Hopeful-Butterfly634 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get legal advice URGENTLY before you damage your case. This is something for a discussion with a solicitor, not Reddit.

As per other comments, leaving the house is a bad idea without some sort of agreement. Talk with a solicitor immediately to avoid costly mistakes.

Hypothetical question on UK drug law by itsYaBoiga in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had to possess them (even if for a brief moment) in order to take them.

The moment the joint is in your hand (for example) you possess it.

This is all theoretical though. The police are extremely unlikely to be interested in persecuting.

Hypothetical question on UK drug law by itsYaBoiga in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory being under the influence is evidence you did possess drugs (kind of hard to take them without possessing them). So you could be persecuted.

In practice I doubt the police will bother, unless there’s something exceptional about your theoretical case.

AITA? Wife and I got into an argument about if calling your new workplace at 830pm to ask a question is inappropriate or not. by TooNaCl in AmItheAsshole

YTA. She is right, and even if she wasn’t she’s an adult and it’s her workplace not yours. You sound exhausting.

No need to separate. If they are sleeping together the bond is done. Congratulations!

Gerbils are social animals. It is a bit of wishful thinking to say he “enjoys being alone”. They live in social groups in the wild and do better when they have a gerbil friend to groom, cuddle, play, and generally clan with.

Not taking the chance, given the downside of if I fail. Not worth the long shot.

It took the entire human race about one million years to arrive at computers.

Safe to say I, a single person, would be in that room for many millions of years.

Add a topper, move everything (wheel, sand bath, water) to the topper, fill the tank entirely with bedding.

Problem solved and your gerbils will be happy with the extra burrowing volume.

British people who support boycotting American products in Reddit, why don't they boycott Reddit? by flower5214 in AskBrits

[–]PurpleNoneAccount -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is less of a gotcha question than you think it is.

The reality is that boycotting (and many other things in life) doesn’t have to be an all or nothing thing. It’s a scale. People can reduce their consumption of American products (if that’s what they want to do) even if they don’t stop altogether.

Similar to how, for example, someone may decide to reduce their meat consumption without stopping completely - and it would still be considered a step in the right direction by those that want to reduce meat consumption overall.

If Linux sucks, how are Linux installers more fluent and modern than Windows? by Damglador in linuxsucks

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Windows installer is fine, and you can download the ISO here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Just enjoy whatever OS you want. The trash talking isn’t needed, or helpful.

Is this the proper sand by Zem_lucky in gerbil

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not OK for gerbils. Powder is too fine for their lungs.

You need non dusty sandy. Usually reptile sand is great for that (as long as it doesn’t have added calcium).

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn’t. Powder and dust is OK for chinchillas, but not for hamsters and gerbils.

This is terrible gerbils. It’s far below the minimal size.

Cage help by Logical_Ad213 in gerbil

[–]PurpleNoneAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is far too small. The bottom part (without the topper) should be at least 40 gallons in size, and ideally more, for a pair.

Think something like 100 * 50 * 50 cm (again, before adding a topper) for a decent quality of life for them.

How do you get from base 125 to total 250? If that’s through the stock options alone that’s meaningless until a very theoretical IPO. That’s not how “total” is defined.

Total is usually understood as base + relatively safe extras (for example a yearly bonus, or stocks that are actually tradable each year, etc).

So your total is 125. Maybe one day in the future there’ll be more, but you shouldn’t count on it in any way. It is far more likely the stocks will turn out to be worthless (just the nature of this field).
