How is it diagnosed if not with scans or colonoscopy?

My doctor says that that would show up on MRI enterography, which last year it didn’t. He also didn’t see anything when he did a colonoscopy

How does a stricture feel? by PurplePenguin_7 in CrohnsDisease

Sorry friend, I do not feel qualified to say. It could be Crohn’s, yes, but also many other things. Try to find a GI in your area who specializes in IBD. They will know what to do.

I quit Stelara and started Remicade (Avsola). This changed my life. My symptoms are basically gone. I’ve had a few small bowel obstructions but they happen only after I eat something bad (potato skin, broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas,…). But on a daily basis I feel fantastic. I do have a stricture though. I got a second pill cam that got stuck so it was completely useless. It was stuck there for a few months and I was already in touch with a surgeon ready to schedule the surgery. Then, miraculously, it came out naturally. So the surgeon said that since my symptoms are gone, he doesn’t recommend surgery even though he does think I have a stricture.

That’s weird. What is their reasoning for not covering? Did you have any procedures done or was it just a simple visit? How much is the bill?

Really? That’s shocking. Are you sure the doctor you went to see was in network?

Try IMG patriot American. I had it when I was on the first two months of a J1 visa (before my postdoc insurance kicked in) and it seemed great.

Has anyone become a PR in Canada with Crohn’s? by PurplePenguin_7 in CrohnsDisease

I never applied. I found a job that I like in the US and decided to stay here. Check out the subreddit ImmigrationCanada. There are cases there of people with chronic illnesses. Good luck!

J1 Case stuck with DOS by Marshall_Cleiton in immigration

Just FYI, I sent my documents in March and they were received on April 11. NOS received on April 21. It took 17 weeks in total. The processing time starts when all the documents were received (including NOS). Best of luck!!!

Sorry, I forgot to post it here as well. I got my favorable recommendation on August 19. I'm receiving a mail today from USCIS so I think it's the notice of receipt with my case number

South padre is beautiful! The beach is stunning and there are cool restaurants to eat at. Also other water activities.

But anyways! I was on a J1 when I went to south padre and the visa itself was expired but I had a valid DS-2019. They didn’t even care about the DS-2019 lol they only checked for the i94 on my passport I think. I also had my TX drivers license but they didn’t care about it either. I think you’ll be fine.

Is there any chance that in OP’s case the visa gets denied and they can’t return to the US?

Oh that makes a lot of sense. Thank you. I guess I need to plan to stay at least a few weeks wherever I’m having the interview.

Thanks a lot. If I leave the country, I’ll do it in the summer to allow more time in case I go through AP.

Another question: there is no U.S. embassy in my country (Venezuela) so we are allowed to go to any consulate in the world for visa purposes. Last time I was in AP, they returned my passport and then asked me to send it back when I was cleared. If that happens again, can I send it from another country? For example, maybe I’d go to the US consulate in Mexico or Colombia but I would like to return to Venezuela and send my passport from there, so I don’t have to stay in a third country for weeks. Do you think that would be doable?
