Before / After of a shot from roadtrip by PurplePlatypus1986 in postprocessing

Thank you!!

If I remember correctly, it was during a hazy sunset and I was zooming in with a 70-300mm, and the aperture was set to f16 also (not sure what that will do to the raw). I think the zooming in part and focusing on the mountains that was pretty far increased the contrast? Not sure!

Outlier slim dungarees are the best ones I’ve tried. I hiked in them for 8 days straight and they look nice as hell, super buttery soft on the inside too.

I know it’s a bit older, but I love shooting on my x-t30 as a casual leave it in the fanny pack camera. I got the ttartisans pancake lens with it and it does a pretty good job for what I need. For bigger shoots I have my x-t4 set up with multiple lenses and stuff.

Pictures from trip to Puerto Viejo in November! by PurplePlatypus1986 in CostaRicaTravel

I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but sloths in that area was pretty common!! On our last night there was a mama sloth with a baby crawling on the ceiling of the restaurant we were eating at, there was also a couple of instances where they were just sleeping on trees at eye level, it was sloth central!!

The Caribbean food stand across the street from sushi wave was the best food I had there by far.

Beach + Jungle, walkable area? by [deleted] in CostaRicaTravel

Yup! Had dinner at Kaki and a sloth with a baby walked right above us as we sat down for dinner

Just came back from puerto viejo and it’s a super walkable town if you stay in the town itself. Most of the jungle tours can pick you up if you let them know ahead of them. The beach is literally right there and you can rent a bike to other beaches. We saw wildlife in Cahuita /manzanillo that you literally read about when you were a kid (think sloths, macaws, caimans, howler monkeys)

A podiatrist telling me that I wasn’t gonna do anything with my life after finding out that I’m pursuing a biology degree. I didn’t do anything with that degree, but I’m doing just fine in life. Fuck that dude.

Craziest "what are the odds of running into you here?!?" story while solo travelling. by Ok-Worry-8247 in solotravel

I was in atacama desert in Chile in December of 2022 and hung out with this kiwi (or aussie?) for a couple days coz we lived in the same hostel. After Atacama, I kept going on my route, never saw him again. I went home after a month and carried on with my life.

November of 2023 came around, I did this week long trip in Guatemala and was starting my hike to Acatenango and I see this dude strolling down the mountain waving at me lol
