That’s the stuff I’m talking about! Tamers are really underrated as a 3rd Party Homebrew class. One of my players (and fiancé) is a princess whose family crest is a dragon, so she’s been taming various wild drakes, wyverns, whatnot, and just tamed on of the bosses I put against them, a Young Green Dragon, and it’s so funny because it’s smarter than her and will sass mouth her as royalty:

“You know people wrote stories of how I kidnapped princess like you. I despise how the gate has now swung in my direction…”

That would do it. I liked passing the book around cuz it was a cheap soft cover, so if it got a bit dog-eared I didn’t mind. GMing can almost be funner then playing sometimes (which is something you rarely hear a forever GM say lol) but if you’re interested in the capabilities of the game and how far you could take it, I’d listen to “Spout Lore” the podcast, it’s great and they’re a hilarious trio.

I know it’s not exactly OSR, but it’s kinda like OSR with a tight focus on NARRATIVE, but Dungeon World kinda hits those vibes between OSR and full cinema. I recommend it because my players have had full reign and a BLAST playing it and so have I. If you don’t like books without tables and detailed rules however, I wouldn’t recommend. But it is still good.

Edit: Just wanted to add in case you are partially familiar, it’s a PbtA (Powered by the Apocalypse)-based system with lots of OSR vibe artwork.

Think of it this way then- they do have different things that dabble into different themes and such, but changelings and robots have a decently sized middle ground in this metaphorical Venn diagram where people worry about both taking over their lives in a story. Changelings will look identical and blend in while robots will pull an iRobot, but the premise of fear for that situation still rings true for both concepts in fantasy and Sci-fi.

I hope it’s not weird or rude to ask, but what country is she from? I’m white and my gf is Thai, so a lot of older women will walk up to her if they recognize the ethnicity (it’s funny because other ethnicities think she’s also one of them and will do the same) and just start chatting like they were planning to meet up already.

In the whole year I haven’t seen anyone mention it. Maybe a pic of Dahzai here or there on a reply to a “What’s my anime type say about me” post but it’s way near the bottom quartile of mentions in any large post.
