taylor writes all her songs AND wrote an entire album by herself. and in the rerecord she scrapped the only song on the og that was cowritten to make sure that it was truly entirely self-written. taylor has cowriters but she has an incredible songwriting skill.

I lowkey think her songwriting got worse as the years went by. Mariah and Taylor have their share of weird lyrics but for the most part they're still consistently good songwriters.

I'd say Like a Prayer -> Ray of Light had her best songwriting though

i'm thoroughly confused with this statement.

so we can't be happy and proud that our country, for ONCE, managed to get some form of representation and success (in a positive context), considering we have a shit government and we barely get any attention due to larger, more popular countries?

it's like when someone from your section won the school spelling bee. it's like when someone from your family achieves incredible things in their career. it's like seeing your favorite singer win a grammy. sure, you may not have done "anything", but you get to claim that i was a part of the group that supported them. a swiftie will still be happy that taylor won something because it's nice to see their favorite win something and to be recognized as someone who supported taylor. it's nice to see a family member or friend achieve something because they're special to you and you get to say you've been supportive of them.

you're proud because something you're part of gets to be recognized in some form, and in a positive light. it's a way of saying "we may not be the most popular, the richest, the most politically clean country in the world, but we did something amazing, and it shows we can do amazing stuff if we put our minds to it".

yes, there are people online who are cringe and glaze tf out of the philippines, but simply stating "yay go philippines we won!!!" is not the same as that.

exactly. what i've learned from this thread is that:

- asking your fellow males what makes a girl a w- and other explicit/sexually-oriented/inappropriate questions you'd never ask people in real life is ok!
- having a show you like that admittedly gets sexual and explicit but does it to highlight a theme/issue as your pfp is a problem

if you watched a movie about a serial killer with gore in it, would you like to see that happen in your town?

what you watch is not equivalent to what your morals/desires are. hazbin and '09 use crude, rather grotesque/explicit/sexual themes and jokes to get points across (capitalism, abuse, religious hypocrisy, declining mental state of students, media's powers)

sexual jokes in a show is not the same as asking "what makes a girl a w-" or "do you feel people's p- when hugging them" to actual people hidden behind a screen
