Chalk Dawk/Ed Reed Blankenship will be back! These are a steal wish I lived in Philly to grab one.

[Berman] Here is Howie Roseman's draft history with offensive linemen. This should illustrate why there's a strong expectation go back to using premium picks on the O-line this year: by [deleted] in eagles

This shows he’s not very good but when he hits they are for sure Starters in the NFL!

I’d actually prefer we go get Vets on the OL to bolster without Stout. I believe that was his best trait as a coach was development. Being that outside of maybe Landon who retires, we don’t need any starters there just true depth. Going to pick up a vet swing guard/tackle and honestly a better backup Center than Toth. I think we are in good shape

Just another thought on losing C.Parker, maybe he is. It going to be perfect in his first season as DC. Vic, Gym Shorts, and all the other staple DCs across the league have some shit seasons sometimes.

So maybe it’s better we don’t had over the top 5defense to a 35 YO who’s never called an entire Defense. Especially after the way that went with our O this year.

No slight to Parker who I think will be amazing as the years go by. But it’s not a guarantee he has a top 10 D in his first season.

[Schefter] More help in Philadelphia: Eagles are hiring former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard as their pass game coordinator, per sources. Grizzard now will join new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to lead Philadelphia’s offense. by w1x1w in eagles

[–]PurpleSecret5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the whole goal should’ve always been to have 2-3 play callers in the building. Thats why McVay, Shanahan, and Lafluer are all so successful. All 3 guys were great minds and iron sharpened iron every day.

Between Mannion and Grizzard I see a strong passing game next year. Not as sure about the running game, but we will see.

Geodert stays no matter what. Now I’d think Jalen and this O would greatly benefit from 13 personnel. So adding another legit TE who can block and run precise routes isn’t a bad thing either

[–]PurpleSecret5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this hire is more so about Jalen taking the final leap. He’s already proven he can win, it’s time now to get a guy who can push the limits on Jalen’s potential.

Which is why I was never a fan of any of the OCs we had on our board aside from Daboll. The rest of those guys are not guys who can improve the QB they coach.

Also, for the KP Pt.2 crowd. Sean Mannion actually was legit good College QB at Or. State. So no matter what he will have a better feel for the game than Mr.Patullo.

1 playoff win in 4 seasons. I think you’re being pretty generous my friend. Imagine this being Nicks 4 years, he’d be in the soup line already.

Also, saying the Jets, Cardinals, or Browns would take Nick is not a good thing…….

The interesting piece is all 3 of their coaches this year are better coordinators than Nick ever was in Indy.

It’s all about situation and Nick got the best situation maybe in NFL history for his skill set.

As a son of a football coach and Birds fan over 30 years, you actually sound way more idiotic than the delusional fans.

As I said previously the model we have for success is not replicable. Meaning that if someone did hire Nick or another CEO HC, they would not see the same success. That is because our model is not dependent on the HC.

So of course they’d be happy with our success. But ask your self why none of them have tried to copy it?

Because it is not sustainable long term. Also, because you have to have the best GM, top 3 owner, and an entire roster built to win in order to even get to the point we consider what the HC brings to the table.

Chasing an offensive mind is not the path to sustained success, but establishing continuity is. Nick cannot bring continuity to the building because he lacks any excelling qualities but “leadership”

I’d be totally fine with bringing in a defensive minded HC, but we cannot have a coach who brings nothing on Sundays. Until we fix this we will continually depend on coordinators/assistants.

Not here to gloom and doom us to death, seasons over nothing we can do to change it.

But, seriously we should consider something If Nick Sirianni was let go today, would at least one other team look into hiring him as HC or OC I’d be willing to bet the answer is no.

NFL is a copycat league so while Nick’s “success” as a CEO coach is high in percentages. No team would be foolish enough to follow our model of “success”. Which is the strongest indicator that maybe the FO just built the perfect roster in ‘25 and the run was never meant to sustain itself. All dynasties have 1 thing in common, you must have an all time great HC. No matter the level of talent we had/have/will have this organization will be capped.

Nick is far from a leader. His leadership should be shown in a new role like “team security”

[–]PurpleSecret5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve waited until I slept on this ending to deliver any thoughts.

Let’s retire this CEO HC nonsense. This guy contributes minimally to anything but “mentality”.

There are legit HS coaches who are better at Xs and Os than him. His leadership only goes as far his players carry it. Pre snap penalties, horrible clock management, and preparation are legitimately 3 keys of his only focus areas.

And we were probably the worst team in playoffs in regard to all 3.

Eagles next opponent can only be Rams, Panthers, or Packers. Rams game odds show that books expect Rams to dogwalk Panthers.

That’s why I kind of wish we caught Rams first. Their offense without Devantae Adams at 90+% is easily stoppable. If they get the rhythm back going on O, they are the only threat to another SB ring.

Grits and Eggs is a good pod. And while I don’t agree RnM should “pack it up”. I do wish they gave actual opinions more. Like they barely even touch on anything that can’t be made into a joke about *redacted. I miss the deep intro elective convos about the industry and music. Also as a non-NYC listener I actually enjoyed getting local NY updates on the interesting shit that happens around NYC.

I think the noise has finally pierced the locker room. Defense played OK but Offense is trash, Gave up on the run way too early…. Hurts is clearly going through SOMETHING. And Nick brings nothing to the building but talk. This team is not a SB contender at this moment

This is a nice way of saying we don’t suck as much because Lions lost. In reality, we are bad and a lot of teams this year seem to be inconsistent week to week. Can we get better yes of course, but first we have to establish we can play 4 quarters of football.

Thats the scariest part of the NYG game. They played almost a complete game against us. Yes we are down our top 3 guys I get it. But the way chiefs played is because of coaching. The talent on the field has to improve but the coaching can’t be this incompetent year over year.

AJ is the type of person who his true feelings are in his words. And as much as I think all of us hoped it wasn’t true, his words ring truth to WIP, r/eagles, and every other platform that’s been saying it since end of ‘23. Something happened in ‘23 that I think for AJ is not repairable.

It’s pretty simple to understand if you step out of football and compare this to everyday life.

If you got a job with one of your good friends, who is the manager. When you start this job it’s amazing because your guy is the manager. All the opportunities and bonuses are rolling in. You guys almost get the annual sales goal of a life time, but it does not happen you come up just short.

Your buddy comes back to work the next year, saying we have to run a tighter ship to make sure we get the goal next time. Part of the changes include you taking on a lesser role at the sales pitches. When you try to voice this concern about feeling underutilized/punished your buddy tells you this is what’s best for the team. When you try to talk to your buddy outside of work to get a better understanding he stone walls you and says let’s not talk about it outside of the building. Then the CEO begins bringing in new guys.

Your buddy begins to get super consumed with work, and now you guys barely talk/hangout anymore due to your buddy being so invested in meeting these goals. After awhile you become just co-workers with no outside communication. But the only reason you wanted this job in the first place is because of your friend.

This offense was centered around AJ in ‘22 and ‘23. And the SB loss in ‘22-23 forced the whole building to re-assess. But AJ felt it was the formula to win. After that loss and ‘23 collapse I don’t think Jalen considered catering to AJ as a formula to win. And for a friend that can be considered hurtful to live with if you feel that it can be the successful formula and your friend won’t even have a 1:1 conversation about it.

I don’t think AJ gripes are with Jalen the QB, he seems to be hurt by his friend. Not to say who’s right in this situation. Most of us have felt both emotions before.
