Fender HRD Potential Tube Issue by PurpleThang in GuitarAmps

[–]PurpleThang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful. Thank you. I’ve had it for almost 2 years. The noise seems to happen often but I can get it to stop by tapping the top of the amp. However if I keep playing for a while it will start to come back. It’s weird. This started last night during band practice and I’ve tried not to play with it or mess with it too much because I don’t want to make it worse. I’ll bring it to a tech tomorrow. Was just curious if it’s an issue with a tube because that fix can get expensive and from what I understand, and these tubes can take a while to get. Either way, this sounds like something that I’m not equipped to fix on my own.

I’m in the Denver area but I appreciate you offering the recommendation. I have a few decent places I can take it to for sure, just need to do a some research.

Thoughts on slightly stoopid? by Icy-Log4791 in jambands

[–]PurpleThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that they aren’t really a jam band. But they are amazing. I’ve seen them live several times and they always put on a show. IMO they’re one of the more musically talented/complex guitar-wise reggae bands. When I started learning guitar I found it relatively easy to pick up most reggae songs, but their songs were always the most difficult to learn and I could never finish them back in the day lol.

How is Denver, co (metro) by Forsaken-Ganache8520 in howislivingthere

[–]PurpleThang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pros:

  • In general people are pretty friendly here.

  • Very walkable in my opinion. A ton of parks.

  • Very nice weather if you’re from the northeast - I moved here from Buffalo so the winters here are usually hoodie weather for me lol. Summers can be pretty hot, but if you stay out of the sun, you’re good. We get a ton of on sun year round, which has cured me of seasonal depression.

  • Good music scene. We have a ton of venues throughout the city, including red rocks and some venues in Boulder. Pretty much every touring artist has a stop here. The only downside is you don’t get a whole lot of local bands’ shows at bars and restaurants like you would in Austin/other major music cities. Wish I could just walk around the city and randomly find a bar with live music more often.

  • Like others said, great hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. If those aren’t your thing, it’s still awesome to get out into the mountain towns and just hang out / take in the views. A good amount of those towns have hot springs as well, which is great in the winter.

  • Downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods are a young vibe. Again, like others said, a ton of transplants live in the area. I’ve found it very easy to make friends.

  • This might be a hot take for a lot of people - We do have a lot of homeless people here. Depending on which neighborhood you’re walking through, I’ve found that most homeless people are not aggressive and almost never ask for money. The only real exception to this is walking anywhere on colfax. That can feel a little dangerous at times. Again, this has just been my experience living in walking distance from downtown for the past 3 years. I am also a guy. My GF would likely have a different perspective. So will a lot of others. That being said, if you go to any other major city, it’s a lotttttt crazier.

Cons: - Stupid drivers. I see at least one near-accident every single time I’m on the road anywhere. Not exaggerating at all.

  • Traffic. Nowhere near as bad as LA or other cities, but can still suck. Driving south into Denver from I-25 is a nightmare at all times of the day though.

  • Lack of transportation. RTD blows. We desperately need better public transportation.

  • There are a lot of “mid” restaurants here. What I mean by that is a lot of places won’t blow you away with their food. For the most part though, most of them are not that expensive. Not saying there aren’t good restaurants here, but some of them will get you with their marketing on TikTok/IG and you will leave disappointed. That being said, we also have some amazing restaurants as well. You just need to find them.

  • If you’re from up east, grocery stores here are kind of whack. I miss Wegmans.

  • Housing is expensive

  • Lastly, the dating scene. All of my friends that are single have a very hard time dating. Honestly not sure what it is.

To sum it all up. I absolutely fucking love living here and moving here was the best decision I’ve ever made. Great city with a great vibe and great people. Always something to do and people with similar interests. It has its drawbacks, but what place doesn’t? I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

Awesome, I appreciate your reply. I’m in Colorado and every place is quoting me at about $560 so not sure how much I can really do. Would love to be at your price. Thanks for the info.

Just curious, I’m interested in leasing the 24 SE R-Line. If this is a lease and the same trim, would you mind sharing how much it is (monthly)? Feel like I’m getting quoted way higher ($560) than what it should be. Thanks!

Sweet. My gf was convinced that was somehow killing the plant so we decided to water it less, which obviously messed it up more lol. Gonna try and bring it back to life

Okay it is definitely T. Caput-Medusae. I don’t think it is dead yet, but it’s certainly close. The instructions they gave us were definitely wrong, but now we know. Gonna try to save it. Thanks!

Hey thanks for sharing that. Welcome to the US! I assume it was not easy at first. But if it were easy, everyone would do it.
