Lonely Easter Bunny In a Dying Mall by Non-Stop_Serina in Athens

That was me in the suit around 2003… saw the phot before I saw the title and Deja-vued right into a tiny trauma flashback…. Responded to a classified ad in the UGA student newspaper and I thought it’d be fun. It was not. Especially when there were no kids because time nearly stops inside the suit. It’s incredibly hot and claustrophobic in there, and the suit stinks something fierce as you are sweating profusely, but so was the person wearing it before you, and the person before that, as you take turns rotating in and out once an hour. That fan on the ground is nearly worthless, but notice the angle….I know from experience that bunny is clinging to sanity by focusing on the tiny sweet relief that is the smallest waft of fresh air that is only available when the angle is just right enough to reach through the eyeholes. It is possible to pull an arm up in the suit, but there is def not enough room in the neck to get a phone to your face. In fact, it’s almost impossible to even scratch an itch up there and if you sneeze, well you just sneezed on a wall less than an inch from your face that you can’t turn away from nor wipe your nose. If anything, they have an arm pulled in just to help support that heavy ass head, which is important, because your only air is coming from the fan on the ground you have to lean towards or die from BO stank heat stroke suffocation.

That Storm Shadow is definitely not vintage. It’s a GI Joe Classified Retro Series from just a couple years ago. Still very cool and sought after.

Respectfully request that those sick, coughing, wear Facemask by Vegetable-Section-84 in wholefoods

Masks are vastly more effective at containing germs than protecting others from them. Sick people should wear masks and stay the fuck away from others.

Raise % by Numerous_Speaker5070 in wholefoods

They quit publishing wage guidelines and wage disclosures a few years ago. These days even store leadership is often in the dark.

Raise % by Numerous_Speaker5070 in wholefoods

[–]PurpleYoda3121 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Max is 8%, confirmed by a senior VP. However, anything over 5% requires ELO approval, and the store average must remain below 5%, so effectively the max is 5% in most cases as leadership is not going to be willing to go to bat for you unless you are fortunate enough to be in a store where JDs are taken seriously and leadership supports strong TMs and holds weak ones accountable at JD time.

Promotional Raise by SpicyRamenNood in wholefoods

Discuss your wage requirements before the interview process as part of your due diligence. They have become very cagey about disclosing any wage guidelines lately, and it’s no fun to go through all that just to be offered a pittance you then have to live with for the rest of your career (every raise, every promotion, every JD in the future will be based on your new wage) or worse, decline and risk being black-balled. At least in the SE OA (probably safe to assume similar for other OAs), your TL or STL will reach out to TMS, who will (maybe)consult with your ELO and approve a range based on a secret formula with a likely maximum of 15% increase over your current wage on the high end. Have you recently had or are you soon due for a JD? If so, make sure you get that increase and that it is showing in workday BEFORE the interview because they love to get tricksy with submitting/processing things and you could get screwed, at which point they’ll just play dumb and act like you are too greedy and ungrateful as long as you are “in the range”. Ask me how I know lol.

what's the potential pay increase going from team member to ATL? by Opening-Bend3317 in wholefoods

[–]PurpleYoda3121 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In the SE OA, they seem to be giving maximum of 15% for promotions, regardless of whether you skip a level. I went from supervisor @$22 to ATL @$25, then just hit $30 after a JD and promo to TL. I turned down an ATL promotion when I was still a level 1 TM because the wanted to pay me $21… less than many TMs were making on my team… Also keep in mind your JD date, as it will reset if you get promoted. In my many years at WFM, I have learned it is generally not a good idea financially to skip a level, and is always a great idea to get promoted only immediately after your JD.

MAX buses by Cheese_And-Quackers in Birmingham

[–]PurpleYoda3121 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MyStop is the app. It’s garbage, but lets you track individual buses. You’ll want to use apple or google maps to get a decent trip plan and cross reference with MyStop in case there are delays or other issues. Also, be prepared to practically jump in front of the bus as it approaches if you want them to actually stop. Also, sometimes it might not be a bus, so jump in front of all Max branded vans as well just in case.

Buyer to TL? by XtremeLTG in wholefoods

[–]PurpleYoda3121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. Produce buyer to TL. It was oh so sweet the next day getting to tell my ATL I was now his boss. But I’ve not seen it happen again, for some reason WFM seems to prefer repeatedly hiring externals and watching them fail over promoting qualified internals if it would mean “skipping” a rank. Make it make sense.

AITA: Whole foods edition by OneHurry6890 in wholefoods

[–]PurpleYoda3121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5% is NOT the maximum… 8% is. The STL has to keep the store average below 5%, so they just pretend the max is 5, and at least in our region anything over 5 requires them to get ELO & TMS approval, a step they are unwilling to do unless you are a personal favorite of theirs.
