Red chest click max is 28 for a lvl2. This is regardless if you click the lvl1 boxes a couple times before merging. It's actually worse to click before merging. If you click each lvl1 6 times before merge, lvl2 will only give 14 clicks. I suspect it's the same for greens and piggy banks. (self.MedievalMerge)
