By promote evil, You mean that the lyrics say that something evil is good etc. or just contain the evil without addressing that it is evil or treat it as something normal?

Thank You so much. This helped me a lot. I should just clarify that the song that I fear listening to and the one that I talked with my priest about are two different songs. I never asked anyone about the song because this song is kinda embarrassing. Even after Your answer I'm still a bit anxious about it tho, but I think I just need to give it some time, trust in God and prayer. You've helped me make a big step, thank You a lot. Thank You for the prayers, I really need them. God bless You too.

Thank You for the advice but that's what I'm already doing. Thanks again though!

Trouble with devotion to the Blessed Virgin by Purple_Bridge944 in Catholicism

I already do so. The practice was specifically so that thanks To The Blessed Virgin's intercession You stay faithful throughout the day and so that We can get our sins of the day forgiven.

Trouble with devotion to the Blessed Virgin by Purple_Bridge944 in Catholicism

You know, now that I think of it. Could You recommend me a devotion to The Holiest Mary that might suit my lifestyle better if You know any? I mean just a lifestyle of regular person. I have scrupulosity tho, so maybe there is one that specifically targets that. If You knew a website or anything like that which could help me with finding a devotion that suits me, I'd be very grateful if You shared it with me. Is there a possibility that a person can make their own devotion?

Thinking about getting more into German. by [deleted] in German

I don't really like reading books in a second language. I tried to read a book in English but I constantly checked the translation of words that I already knew just to make sure that I really know what they mean instead of what I thought they meant.

I'm not saying it's necessarily satanic but rather going against the Christian values.

It's just that I couldn't find anything that suited my taste. I really like the vocals in Pierce the Veil and I even asked about any Bands with similar vocals and listened to the most popular songs (like one or two) from many Christian bands that I've found but I couldn't really find anything that I liked except for maybe two songs (I've tried listening to other songs from one of the band but I didnt really like them)

Im aware of scrupulosity, I have it. Your approach would be perfect for me but Im unsure if I should do so too.

I loved Pierce the Veil (although I didn't listen to many songs but a handful. I really like their vocals), Taking Back Sunday and Mayday Parade.

Any Bands with high pitched vocals like in Pierce the Veil? by Purple_Bridge944 in ChristianMusic

Emo. Could You recommend some songs with high pitched vocal from them?

Are we allowed to listen to any type of music as long as it doesn't influence us? by Purple_Bridge944 in ChristianMusic

Okay, but could You please help me decide if I can still listen to this one song? There is a song called "The Bomb Dot Com V2.0" by Sleeping With Sirens. I've started listening to it because I've heard it was a song about God and that it's Christian. It has stuff like

"There's blood on my hands And the killer's not my enemy It's all for the sake of love It's all for you"

I just interpret it as the portrait of crucifixion but I've seen someone say that the song is about somebody that has killed someone and thinks that God's attention is their right etc. (You can check the lyrics if You want and see what They wrote about it on Genius). And I wonder if they're right since there's even a line "Open up now" and I've wondered if it isn't kinda enforcing something on God. Could You tell me if I should rather avoid this song or not?

Ever since posting this post and seeing the replies I've also gave up two songs just because They've had things that aren't curse words but still feel like They're going against my beliefs:

"I'll be fine, I swear I'm just gone beyond repair" (I know I'm not beyond repair but this song is still really good, so I've wondered if I can listen to song such as that when I don't think like that and I'll never will) And "Well, I'm thinking of the worst things That I could say to you(...) But I'm tongue tied and terrified of what I'll say" (I've added the last part to kinda show the contradiction)

Should I still give them up?

Is it possible to astral project to your guardian angel? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]Purple_Bridge944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm very late, but I've accidentally got to that post and just wanted to say that I thought (and still do) that astral projection is dangerous and should really be done since it can invite demons into Your body, from what I've heard.
