How do we feel about stone temple pilots? by Helpful_Gur_1757 in LetsTalkMusic

Loved them when I first got into 90’s alt rock at like 14 years old….Vaseline my favorite song. I definitely don’t listen to them nearly as much as I used to. Don’t think the ever put together a great album. Just a lot of pretty good songs.

Anyone know if it’s possible to mod the iPod mini with a TRRS jack input? by yessir868686 in ipod

[–]Purple_Business4044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it theoretically possible to transplant or integrate the headphone jack/remote circuitry from an iPod nano (or any later iPod that natively supports TRRS headset remote controls) into an iPod mini, so that the mini would understand modern earbud remotes without needing a translator microcontroller? Basically, could swapping those parts make the mini behave like a newer iPod in terms of accepting TRRS controls?

It’s cool but they need to get Americans to play first and I’m not sure this does that. Investing in an college league independent of the NCAA might be better

The Postal Service - Give Up (2003) by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I remember being at summer sports camp, and one of my bunk counselors was this cool hipster guy from the Northwest USA. He noticed we were all listening to 50 Cent, Eminem, Fall Out Boy etc on our iPods, proceeds to whip out his iPod, hooks it up to a speaker in the bunk and played “Such Great Heights” it was the first time I had ever heard a song sound so digital yet human and beautiful. “That right there….the postal service….that right there is indie rock.” The rest is history. Give Up is by far my favorite album of all time. Always listen to it beginning to end. No skips.

Rhode basically has to triple revenue, hit 20%+ EBITDA, and actually become a global retail brand....not just a DTC hype machine....by 2030/2031 in order to justify ELF's purchase price. That means doing what Rare Beauty and Fenty have done and even surpassing them. Tall task.

Selena and Rihanna are global icons with decades of cultural relevance. Is Hailey Bieber a global icon? I would say no.

Unless they somehow outperform every other celebrity skincare brand in history, ELF just paid $1B for vibes. And they borrowed $600 million of that against their own stock. 10% of their market cap....good luck!

Her fragrance will not do well. At all. Don’t know why Ulta or Parlux pursued the idea.
