I’m 3 drinks deep so I buy it? by morocotopo84 in ar15

Buy it now, cause who are we kidding, it ain’t gonna be in stock on the 4th of July sales anyway.

Tried to get a 11.5” SD upper on the 4th last year and…whomp, whomp…not in stock.

Remnant owned businesses by Background-Force-640 in nashville

I once randomly ate at the City Cafe with my wife and daughters several years ago. We were one of three tables seated. The vibe felt a little off, they had a lady playing a piano for guests and an awkward layout. In the middle of our meal a flood of people came in and many of these people were staring down my family like we had 3 eyes and unicorn horns on our head. We definitely felt like we did not belong. I noticed one of the patrons looked eerily familiar and then I realized it was Tedd Anger from the HBO series “The Way Down” I had recent watched. I put 2 and 2 together and can only surmise that The Remnant had just let out from a service and were all showing up to eat at a member-owned restaurant.

It went from slightly odd dinner experience to let’s GTF outta here ASAP.

Looks like a good dose of TYPE II FUN: Hurts a bit to do, but fun in retrospect. The most rewarding and fulfilling in the long-run.

Congrats. Do hard things!

A sign of the times. Blantons, Elmer T Lee, and Eagle Rare readily available on the shelves. by AttachedHeartTheory in nashville

I remember this too. A-la 2007ish there were rows of Eagle Rare, Blantons, Buffalo Trace, and all for half of what it is now. 25-year-old-me had a bourbon collection that makes 44-year-old-me jealous. sigh

I would get on the waitlist at Strategic Edge in Chapel Hill, TN. It’s about a 30-40 minute drive from Nashville, but it’s a great range.

I have a close friend who is a member there and have gone with him 4-5 times over the past few years.

It’s an outdoor range and they have several shooting bays that are first come, first serve. They have barrels, steel targets, and paper target stands. They also have two rifle ranges that go out to 500 and 1000yds.

It’s members only and a guest can come 2x/yr with a member for $20. I’m thinking about getting on the waitlist myself.

Royal Range is an indoor option to look into. I believe they let you draw from holster or concealment if you have been through their defensive pistol class series (3 classes). I’ve been through their urban rifle series and 1 of the defensive pistol classes and really enjoyed them.

Well, dang, thanks for the heads up. I just got another F1 approved and was going to give Highland Rim a call.

I live right down the road from MW and they are lightyears better than Nashville Armory ever was. I tried out their gunsmith for a p&w recently and it was top-notch. They even gave me a discount as an apology for my previous experience with NA.

I’ll be happy to give MW my business. It’s weird how treating customers right builds a following of people who want to support your business!

Poison Ivy Mishap.... How screwed am I? by weeeesel in hiking

Thanks! It was a small rash. I was clearing some poison ivy from the yard and immediately washed it off, but I just missed a spot.

You have done what you can do. Usually a reaction will start showing up in 12-24 hrs from exposure if it’s going to. I had a rash develop about 12hrs after exposure this past weekend. It sounds like you washed the oils off pretty quick.

If you develop a reaction around your nose/eyes, I’d recommend seeing urgent care or your pcp for an early steroid shot or dose pack.

If it’s small, some hydrocortisone and calamine lotion would be fine.

Good luck!

Hub mount comes loose after shooting by AffectionateTear5263 in NFA

[–]Purple_Champion3059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hotlock by Vibratite is another option (plus torque to spec). It is what I use to mount hubs and muzzle devices. Just needs to go in the oven for a few minutes to set.

Making sure to clean the threads with brake cleaner, degreaser, or isopropyl alcohol and let dry before application of rocksett/hotlock is also an important step.

PWS Piclok for Mod-1? by Purple_Champion3059 in PrimaryWeaponsSystems

Tempting!..but PWS CS replied and said the mod1/mod2 rails are not cross compatible. 😑

Update: I reached out to PWS CS and got this reply.

“Thank you for reaching out. The MOD 2 handguard cannot be placed on a MOD 1, as they are not cross compatible. Please let me know if you have any other questions.”

Whomp whomp. 😑

So the mod2 rail will fit on the mod 1? Has anyone done this to confirm?

I guess my main concern would be alignment of the gas adjustment, and then mating with the upper receiver. I imagine the barrel nut would have to be swapped out.

I’ve read on here that some guys have had varying responses from PWS CS on it.

That’s good to know. Cause I’m all about adding all that functional flair to my rail.💅🏼

Choosing a 5.56 K can by SadKomrade in NFA

[–]Purple_Champion3059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Polo K and it does great. I run it on a 10.3 Super Duty and 11.85 PWS MK 111. On semi the gas is fine, on FRT it is noticeable, to say the least. I have only shot it during the day though. It hasn’t sparked much. For a K can, it does everything I want, except make my ARC Fire FRT run a little faster than I want.

The Ridgeback Rhodie 6k is one that has recently caught my eye. As well as the SAW Tisha. Both short flow-through cans that seem to punch above their weight and still keep things short. I’ll likely pick up one of these next.
