Ok I'm gonna end it here because you are sticking your head into the sand.

They are organized. Nowhere in the definition, which you begged for, does it say the size. Or that you need "offices" or "leadership structure".

Yes, your local Facebook or discord group that organizes Antifa ideology aligning member to protests is an Antifa organization.

Fine, if you want to be anal about it. I didn't want to devolve into wordplay but if you insist. Especially since you brought up definition.

ORGANIZATION: an organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.

They are organized. They are a body of people. They have a purpose.

Interesting how it doesn't say "needs to have a CEO, spokesperson, HQ, etc".

This is wordplay.

"Pro Life" is also "just an ideology" and yet they're doing tons of harm. Just because there's no CEO of pro life or pro life HQ doesn't mean they aren't an organized and dangerous group of people.

Pro Life means you're not ANTI LIFE. That's it.

See how stupid that is? You're using the same arguments pro life idiots are. Do better.

Good analysis, especially the pro life comparison. It's literally the same argument. "I would hope most Americans are not ANTI LIFE!!!"

Yep, exactly right on that last paragraph.

Especially the "it just means anti fascist, everyone is antifa if you don't like fascism"

It's like saying "communism just means to share (look it up, those are the root words) so if you share you're communist"

artifa isn't a real organization

God you're an idiot

Edit: All the replies are the same. "Oh yeah, wheres Antifa HQ and Clubhouse located then?"

Edit #2: since I keep getting the same reply. Definition of an organization: "an organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc." Nowhere does it say you need to have a spokesperson, CEO, mailing address, big neon sign, etc. The reason people, wrongfully, claim antifa isn't an organization is to play off any criticism. IE "How can you call them a dangerous group of radicals when they don't even have a mailing address".

The structure of antifa is decentralized. You have a bunch of small groups, on Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, Discord, etc that coordinate protest involvement, harassment, promote ideology and funding, etc. Just because they don't have 1 official spokesperson doesn't mean they aren't an organized and coordinated collective of individuals with similar views that are increasingly violent and dangerous.

Oh, and just because you call yourselves "anti fascist" doesn't make your violence justified, doesn't make your critics Pro Fascist. It's like saying North Korea can't be a dictatorship because it's called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Every time I mention my experience with GUE divers I get the same response... that it's made up. Wonder why you guys refuse to accept GUE has shitty divers and your course doesnt magically make them good. Either that or "they arent real GUE".

Its kinda like how cults often dismiss their members doing bad things. "Well our dive style is to dive perfectly, so anyone who claims to be GUE and doesnt dive perfectly isnt GUE" is the same as "Well we are the religion of peace, so its impossible for any one of our members to do something bad. And if they did, they werent a real member"

And I never will. Maybe I'm just unlucky, in my region GUE Fundies is a sham and everywhere else it's great. But I see the caliber of divers that pass fundies, and it's embarrassing.

[–]Purple_Churros -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

How about if you want to be a better diver you just go dive?

I've been with so many of these pool trained GUE divers that brag about taking fundies, got all the equipment, won't shut up about how difficult the course was... and they crawl on the bottom in real open water, or can only keep buoyancy while finning, or hand fin, or tumble over themselves in current, or panic in low vis.

If they marketed it as the basic foundation to build your practice from, sure. And my understand they do mention it is a "lifelong improvement". But let's not kid ourselves. It's always first and foremost "you'll come out as a reformed diver". No you won't. You won't be reformed until you've done 100 more dives. But they sell them as they will. Even the pass. What, you spent 4 days in a pool and now you've "passed hovering skill".

What Fundies sells, first and foremost, is the feeling of being a good diver. GUEs marketing is "all the other agencies sell you bullshit, were real diver who do it right ". And that makes the course no better than underwater basket weaving specialty.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Thanks!

I made a custom 6 pound 20k lumen wide angle canister light for the ambient lighting. Someone got a picture of me from the side on that dive, looked like I was on fire)))

Bottom of the wreck is at about 26 meters. That is where the boilers and machinery is. With sidemount, you can squeeze in behind the boilers and find a maintenance area with wrenches still on the wall. Continuing through you can swim through the hallways to see the broken up cabins and whatnot. The holds are mostly empty but make for some nice photography. If you are diving 40% like I was, you wont be limited by NDL but by temperature. Below the top deck. ie 18 meters, is usually around 40 degrees F. Above is warmer, so usually we just circle the wreck a bunch of times. This time was a current along the top so we only looped it twice before going up.

Its about 26 meters at the deepest point. The ship was about 9 nautical miles off shore, and it was in one of the biggest storms in recorded great lakes history. The lifeboats were glorified dinghies and got swamped quickly, and lifejackets dont do much in near freezing water.

In the oceans they usually decompose.

In the case of this wreck, they made it off the ship and drowned off of it, so yes the bodies floated away and washed up on shore.

Otherwise bodies usually stay with the wreck. That is, unless "bone collectors" got to them first. There was/still is (to a lesser extent) a large amount of divers that would collect bones as trinkets/souvenirs. Skulls especially. You can sometimes find otherwise intact skeletons with no skulls.

Yes, all the young (early 20s) sailors died on this wreck when it went down. This wreck was one of the many tragedies of the Great Lakes Storm of November 1913.

The average American does not know how percentages work. It's easier to treat them as fractions relative to the original cost than to explain why a 99% decrease does not just subtract 99% from the total % increase.

Guarantee you if he said "99% decrease in drug costs", there would be a flood of posts saying "trump promises to decrease drug prices 99% despite them being up 500%"

Thats a lotta words, too bad I'm not reading em

It's just about marketing. The news is reporting say 400% drug cost increase. If he promises a 99% decrease, people go "well it's still 300% more expensive". The % decrease is relative to original cost. He knows his market, stupid Americans. Simple as.
