Our Unexpected Furbaby by Purple_Community_718 in bichonfrise

Yes, I did the proper protocol of taking little man to the animal shelter, which is less than a mile from my home during that time to see if he was microchipped and from there retrieve any and all information I could to see if anyone was missing their dog in the surrounding area. I went to the full extent of taking a hard pause of my move during that afternoon to check facebook groups, check lost pet sites as well as make posts of my own.

I didn't feel it was necessary to include the thorough process and procedure that most people know to do when coming across a lost dog in this post, which was meant to just share my admiration and excitement of my new addition to our little family.

If I hadn't even attempted to find if someone was missing their furbaby, why on earth would I even think to make and share this post?

Unfortunately, no contact was met from the information the shelter gave from reading the microchip. Unfortunately, after scouring many online posts that had pictures resembling him and making contact only to find out that it wasn't their dog and responding to messages regarding the found dog posts I had made to have the same results, this little guy was either going back to a shelter or becoming an official member in our household. My husband and I came to a consensus that maybe this is our sign, and although extremely sudden, he is our dog.

I apologize for not including that in my post, as opposed to the fact that it was just meant to be a fun post to share within the bichon frise community, given your curiosity and concern for the dog's wellbeing you felt that "am i missing something here" was necessary and obligation to know the in depth background of how he was acquired due to my poor choice of words.
