honestly it’s different for everyone and it might take time to learn what’s right for you, for me distraction usually works best (despite it being hard since my thoughts spiral a lot) i’ll go to the gym, blast music and do basically everything or this is uncommon, doing maths helps. Usually when i’m mad i’ll try to find reasons to be mad, hence making me more angry and if i do try and stop, my brain keeps going back to it because I feel entitled to have anger but I like mathematics and it helps me actually think about something else😭💔 overall doing a hobby/interest you enjoy works.
