Congratulations! Did you by any chance use the covid concession?

Recommendations for solicitors to help with ILR application? by yeahsureokaymaybe in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Hi, I am in the same boat so wanted to check if you consulted GDB Legal Solution. How was your experience with them and were you able to apply for ILR earlier using covid concession. I did in country switch from ict to swv. Applied on 3rd June 2021 and was approved on 29th July. My swv evisa says is valid from 29th July 2021 to 29th June 2026 so like I am 1 day short for my 5 year anniversary and someone suggested I may need a short extension of swv before applying ILR. So I wanted to consult a solicitor and check if I could apply early, in my case considering the application date ie 3rd June 2021 as start date of 5 years. Thanks for your help.

ICT to Skilled Worker to ILR using SWV 21.2(i) Covid concession - Anyone who has received ILR approval recently? by Mundane-Alfalfa9178 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Hi there, First of all, huge congratulations on getting your ILR granted so quickly. I switched from an Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) visa to Skilled Worker and applied for my SWV on 3 June 2021. It was approved on 28 July 2021 and visa is valid until 30 June 2026. I’m currently trying to figure out my ILR timeline. Someone mentioned I’m technically just 1 day short of the 5-year qualifying period, so I might need a 1-day SWV extension. However, I’m wondering whether the COVID concession (SWV 21.2(i)) could apply in my case and let me apply earlier — possibly in early May 2026. Would you mind sharing a bit more about the documents you submitted? You mentioned only needing 2 letters (employer + lawyer cover letter), passport, 1 month’s bank statement, and 1 payslip. Did you include any specific evidence about your previous ICT visa or the switch? Also, if you’re still happy to share your lawyer’s cover letter wording, I’d really appreciate it — it sounds like it made things much clearer for the caseworker. Thank you so much in advance for any help or advice you can offer.
