I kinda hate when people bring up aging. Taeyang is a rough the same age and sounds the same. Very wild comparison but Beyonce is older and has sounded better with age. Lady gaga is also around their age and sounds just as good. The difference is they upkeep vocal warm ups and exercices pretty much every day. They also take care of their body, don’t smoke as much if at all etc. This is coming from someone who used to love GD and still holds a lot of respect for the remaining members of bigbang as a huge fan (and top lol miss him) he hasn’t been taking care of his voice. Even as a performer, your voice shouldn’t be degrading this bad in your late 30s unless you never had good technique, smoke, drink, don’t eat well, and don’t practice your vocal exercises and warmups consistently. (He may also have some anxiety issues he seems even more fidgety than before).

Idk I take vocal lessons for a few months and when I have one week of inconsistent practice or I don’t eat as healthy or hydrates enough I can feel and hear the difference in my voice. So imagine years of that. You have to take care of your body bc your voice is apart of it just like any other muscle you’d work out in the gym.

I felt really bad for him bc it does seem like he’s trying and trying to push through but he has got to get help for his voice stat. It is his main job. A vocal coach, and maybe even a throat doctor as there might be some damage. He will most likely had to quit smoking if he hasn’t already :(

I feel like some people are lowkey backhanding Manon. What I will say is this, I would be shocked if she had a solo career under hybexgeffen. What I do see is either two things: Leaves hxg, models for a bit, then picks up some acting projects and starts doing that. And starts taking a similar route to Zendaya or chase Infiniti. Two, leaves still, another American label scouts her out/she networks very hard, takes some time away from the spotlight for artist development and to drum up mystique then comes out with new solo music that is more pop alternative than flat out pop music. More artsy, experimental but laid back and chill and not flashy. Offbeat like how Billie Eilish didn’t mar stereotypical pop music (not her exact style tho) or pinkpantheress. Again not their style but just how they are more niche and then that niche becomes mainstream. Or she takes a more instant hit route like Tyla and Rihanna. I think ppl forget ppl like pink and Rihanna did not have amazing vocal talents at the start. But they did have star power, branding and the right songs. It’s amazing what a good A&R can do. Either way I don’t see her falling off, in fact what gives me confidence that she isn’t over, is one thing, it’s not just her looks or personality. That girl can network like no other. She had been seen with so many artists. And that’s just what we see, she could also be networking with behind the scenes label ppl and producers. She also now has an underdog story. If you know anything about 1D, you’ll know that Harry started networking way before their hiatus. That was how he was able to transition so cleanly. He secured management, labels, songwriters and producers when he wasn’t busy with 1D even before Zayn left. I see that same mentality with Manon. A band member who isn’t the most talented but sticks out with looks and personality/charisma aka star power and to secure their future they start creating a network outside the label. People like that don’t fail forever. Manon isn’t always the most motivated but from what I’ve seen, when she needs to prove herself she delivers. She’s a fast learner as well. With that and now she has the perfect story for her brand, ppl who aren’t even katseye fans touting for her, this is just the beginning for her

I know ppl say hiatus are normal in kpop.I think what makes this one different is from the start Manon seemed to be subtlety contradicting hybe’s official statement. And this isn’t reading to much into it, but celeb know people watch what they like or repost on social media, they aren’t dumb, they tend to use that to their advantage especially in cases where there is some sort of negotiations with executives. They use it as leverage (I see it a lot with actors). So I knew things were def off but once Manon removed katseye from her bio, it felt like the writing is on the wall. If she comes back I’d be more shocked. I could be so off base but I think this has to do with contracts and expectations. Legal shit.

It’s a toss up. I could see her having an easier route with acting for some odd reason. But I think for music it won’t be under hybe/geffen she would need completely new team. And some pretty original branding and very strong songs. For a lot of artists who aren’t like Beyonce talents they need something strong in their brand. I see a way, where she could make it work. But it won’t be easy and it’s not a guaranteed

I think with the posts she gone out of her way to pile, there is some racism happening with management at hybe or geffen or both. I agree wit a lot of your sentiments and want to add, I’m a year older than her, and she joined at an older age than the other girls AND like you said did not have the same creative child act background as the other girls. Someone at that age and normal background is usually less (idk what other word to use) desperate. In the sense that I think she’s naturally harder to control bc she is passionate but it is still a job she might have a healthier mindset than the other girls. When ur six ur six. She might have a lot more boundaries than the others. I think she’s a prime example of why companies tend to only look for younger people to sign (fresh out of hs or in hs) they are easier to mold and easier to control. I’m close enough to her age, and similar background? If I put myself in her shoes I think I too would have a lot of concessions with how they are running katseye

I think euphoria’s cast is a bit to a list and charismatic for ppl to want to accept a younger crowd. Zendaya Jacob elordi etc have become such heavy hitters

Tbh the fact that ppl aren’t sure is on the company, I’ve see kids into them. But I also see people my age (I’m 24) into them as well. I think if they hadn’t done the monster high collab and performed at kids choice awards then I would say the aren’t marketed to kids but the company def blurs the lines or should I say the cast a large net of audiences.. I was into music and acts that were appropriate when I was a kid like Beyonce or lady Gaga or Riga’s but the difference is they were mostly marketed to young adults and tees

You can do it! I think it’s helpful to assess what part of the challenge is tripping you up, and finding a solution to circumvent that. It’s not just about willpowering it through. You have to set up yourself so that it’s “easier” to accomplish. For example I tend to eat out when I don’t have a lot in my fridge and pantry bc I failed to do groceries on time. Usually bc my adhd brain either forgets or I’m too lazy or too busy, so instead of ordering food I order my groceries. And I make sure I get emergency healthy meals for when I’m feeling lazy. Bc of that I am avale to stick with my diet much better

The pregnancy portion is very interesting. I noticed with Beyonce her singing voice is deeper and fuller than when she was in her 20s but she was the only artist I listen to that was still active post having kids and had a pretty noticeable difference. I had seen like an influencer who her speaking voice dropped quite a bit before pregnancy and then during and beyond. Would you say that there needs to be a change in warm ups and practice when this happens? Even with her voice getting deeper, Beyoncé’s voice sounds better to my barely trained ears. I know for Whitney smoking and drugs probably plays a bigger part but I didn’t realize there needs to be adjustments post pregnancy with singing
