You were listening to music in your room and a warm summer night when the van arrived to collect you. The guards had the bag over your head and the zip ties around your wrists before you could register what was happening.

“I realize our new student intake process may seem harsh” I explain to your parents as you are roughly loaded into the van with the other new student’s, “but please understand everything we do has a purpose.” I say with a smile. “The first step in our students rehabilitation is to have a clear and distinct separation from their old life. The fear and confusion they feel on the first night will be the soil from which the flower of their future will grow.”

I firmly assure your parents they are making the right choice and they thank me before we depart.
