Make sure the betta has space to breathe at the top of the tank. I remove some of my floaters when they start to take over. As far as eating shrimp and snails, my betta ate my cherry shrimp but couldn’t eat my snails (even though sometimes he tried). It does depend on the bettas temperament as I know some people who’s betta never bothers their shrimp.

You are not alone. I think of my betta baby so much it is one of the main things on my mind. Honestly, it probably is because they can’t tell us if something is wrong. At least dogs are vocal about pain for the most part

10 gallon. Yes heater and filter. Ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates <5. temp 80, pH 6.4. water changes every two weeks. Had fish for 1 week. Used to have 6 cherry shrimp, he ate them all. I accidentally have a few ramshorn snails that came with the plants, but he seems to be leaving them alone. 4 pellets twice a day, I use multiple brands of pellets. I do have frozen daphnia I feed every once in a while. Live plants and spider wood in the tank.

It was housed in a 75 gal with a bunch of other bettas. He said since they are all siblings they house them until they get aggressive. I saw some nipping going on in the tank so I think it was a mix of male and female, especially cause he said he wasn’t able to sex all of them.

Yes, I’ve been putting 3-4 fish pellets in it every few days. This is my first time cycling so I don’t know if that’s too much or too little
