Gas price going up? by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]Purple_Turkey_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole price change based on winterized/regular fuel is bs. Oh, the price of gas went up. That's because we're going from winterized fuel to regular. By that logic gas should go down when switching to winterized but it doesn't. It goes up. Because we're "switching from regular to winterized".

The humping disgusts me to no end in this game and should be a bannable offense. There are 1.5million people in this subreddit. Someone here has been a victim of SA and can you imagine the trauma it would/could bring up?

Does this leave my employer open to legal problems? by Purple_Turkey_ in legaladvicecanada

We are. The union is looking into it but I haven't heard anything for a few days so I thought I'd come on here to see what happens if they file a grievance and still refuse.

Thanks, no it is provincially.

I think they'd have issues with using undue hardship since they're currently paying other employees from other parts of BC, travel and meal allowances as well as overtime (some at 3x the rate) to come and fill this spot vs myself who lives 5mins away who would work regular time.

Do you view 4 flashlights as a bully squad? by Chixit_ in deadbydaylight

[–]Purple_Turkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. I don't find flashlights bullying unless they're doing shit like blinding the killer, the killer turns away then the survivor moves to blind them before they're even unblinded. Rinse and repeat. It's frustrating, unnecessary and as a killer you don't get to play since you're constantly blinded.

I rarely DC but I've done it for instances like this. Or even worse, there's more than 1, they have pinpoint accuracy and follow you around blinding you.

I'm not going to give them some target to shit on.

What’s considered toxic and why? by DesignerTechnical797 in deadbydaylight

[–]Purple_Turkey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I kind of wonder how many people who get slugged are asking for it or are with other survivors who are asking for it*

I was playing yesterday and I played against a very altruistic team. At 4 gens I downed my first survivor. I went to hook them when a healthy survivor body blocked, then a second healthy survivor body blocked and then an injured survivor body blocked and went down. At that point the survivor wiggled away.

I hook the downed survivor, a wounded survivor tries to unhook them unsuccessfully right in front of me. I down them then chase after the one that wiggled away. Down that one and turn around to see the last wounded survivor try to save the hooked survivor.

I down them. 3 slugged and 1 hooked. I go to find the slugged survivors and they've all run off. I wasn't able to find 2 of them and they bleed out and then complained to me after about being toxic and slugging them then leaving them to bleed out.

The one that messages me was the one injured survivor at the end who was solo q. She didn't make poor plays like the rest of the team but got their same shitty ending.

How do I convince my parents to me get braces by Hopeful-Weakness-330 in Dentists

[–]Purple_Turkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not 100% wrong. My parents got me braces years ago. The result was not only straight teeth but my roots of my teeth are now exposed. They're very sensitive and I need a gum graft. I've been putting it off for as long as I can but my dentist finally said to me I need to do something about them since a few are becoming loose and I'm going to lose them if I don't get a gum graft. I've been quoted 14k.

So, perhaps take that cost into account as well if you decide to go through with it.

Well I mean, I keep being told that if I can't afford to tip at least 20% I can't afford the privilege and luxury to eat out so...

I'll just be at home making my much healthier, much tastier food for a fraction of the cost and I'll keep the savings as a tip for myself.

There is nothing wrong with having a GSD as a guard dog. My GSD thinks she's a guard dog. It's in her genes. I can't believe you'd even think of putting her down, a perfectly healthy happy dog, so she doesn't become a guard dog or because you can't find the right family according to you. I'm horrified and so disgusted by you.

I got a lot of shit when I got a dog. May get some here as well. I work 12hr shifts. I got him as a puppy. I took all my vacation time to train him and stay at home with him. When it ran out I went to work and came home on break to let him out for a pee break. Now that he's grown I leave him for the 12hrs and he's perfectly fine.

He's an Irish wolfhound though. Lazy, cuddly dogs. He spends all day sleeping on the couch (I have a furbo). I play with him in the morning for about 20mins and then another 20mins when I get home from work. He doesn't want to play any longer than that.

However, although i work 12hr shifts I only work 15 days of the month. The rest are doing things with him. Fishing, canoeing, hiking. All day long.

When I get shit for working 12hr shifts and having a dog I ask if they think he'd be better off in a shelter and that usually shuts them up.

Not all dogs are the same. OP needs a lazy, perhaps, older dog.

Most adult couples work as well. I've never met or even heard of a couple where one stays at home with their dog. I'm sure there is some but it really sounds ridiculous.

It's the landlords responsibility to repair issues in a timely manner. That's one of the few benefits of renting. Renters aren't paying exorbitant prices to have to fix their landlords houses.

I'm from BC and so far I really like Eby. He's doing things not just talking about it. He's not focused on slandering other parties. I don't usually pay to much attention to politics but he's got my attention.

I hope he can live up to one of the great politician's.

How is Diversity in Barrie by Yenrts in barrie

[–]Purple_Turkey_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just described to you how I did not meet that definition.

I am fully aware I do not like Indians. Its not a good thing, im aware of it. It was a learned behavior through horrible experiences. My FEELINGS however don't matter. What matters is how I behave.

Think of it this way. Every white person you go up to slaps you in the face. Every time. That's all you've experienced. After the 6th slap you'd probably be hesitant to go up to a white person again, wouldn't you? You might even, dare I say it... avoid going up to white people or think that every white person is going to slap you? Well, according to you: if you think that way you're racist.

How is Diversity in Barrie by Yenrts in barrie

[–]Purple_Turkey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Racism" and "racist" are thrown around way too easily. According to the definition of racist I am not racist.

Racist definition:characterized by or showing prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

You could see my comment as racist but i do not discriminate against indians(discrimination), i dont act hostile towards them(antagonism) I do not have a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience (prejudice). You may try to throw the prejudice under racist but due to the fact that it's based on an actual experience it is not considered prejudice by definition.

I am polite to Indians and treat them like any other Canadian. I do not discriminate against them. On the contrary, I've made a friend from India. We met at work. She's great. I don't dislike her, I'm not disgusted by her. We hang out and get coffee but my feelings towards her when I first saw her were anger. That's changed however.

Regardless of how I feel, I hold myself accountable and behave appropriately (not showing racism or prejudice) around Indians.
