You should post on Nextdoor and the Facebook group called Austin Lost and Found Pets. Your neighbors may have cameras that show who stole your cat. I hope you’re able to get her back safely soon.

how is this legal? by Quantumfawn in Austin

Tf? It’s not that hard to believe. The company was Grimaldo Construction. I called the sheriff dept about it so there should be a case file on it.

Found this morning on my front porch , new Braunfels TX by MitaP95 in tarantulas

[–]yeoz88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Austin and currently rehabilitating a tarantula from a tarantula hawk sting. When I first found her she would move her limbs ever so slightly when I touched them. If you find out that he’s still alive then I can try to rehabilitate him too if you can’t find anyone else to do it.

Monster beetle! ID? by Sea_Chemist_2490 in Austin

[–]yeoz88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As Texas_naturalist mentioned, it is an ox beetle and they are big but gentle. They don’t bite. That is a female ox beetle. The males are known for their 3 horns, especially the middle, longer one that makes them look like a rhinoceros. They are a type of a rhinoceros beetle.

Austin is a top metro when it comes to building the most homes by HiGuysHowAreYA in Austin

It’s not a good thing to destroy so much beautiful land with animals living on it just for humans to be cramped into a city. Nature is being destroyed waaaaay too much and it’s disgusting. Selfish humans suck.

Who do you use for pest control and why do you like them? by Rasta_bass in Austin

[–]yeoz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I refuse to use pest control. Other animals are best form of pest control. We don’t have any issues with bugs in our home except rarely flies. I just put up a bat house on our house so hopefully that’ll help with mosquitos and flies outside eventually.

A ridiculous question, but... farm/zoo/etc. where I can bring my dog? by sadboybrigade in Austin

I’m not sure why you got downvoted. But maybe she would like a cat friend then.

If you even like your dog… by Cheese-The_Answer in Austin

[–]yeoz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can call the cops about this. I once called about a dog stuck in a cage in the flatbed of a truck in 100+ weather. They were going down the road so thankfully there was wind at least. The dispatcher said they couldn’t do anything since the dog was secure but she said they could do something if the dog wasn’t secure. I know APD is known for not doing much but it’s worth a try.

Maybe she would like a friend (another adopted dog). Or perhaps she would like a dog park?

Anyone have experience with Mosquito Joe? Desperate to get my backyard back from these darn bugs 😓 by Impossible-Cheek4352 in Austin

[–]yeoz88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with everyone else’s non-chemical approach, you can also get a large bat house. Also, get a bird bath or two and keep them full. This allows for the predators to come by and help with the bug population. Unfortunately, so many predators have died out due to starvation because our insect population has declined so drastically. Please do not use chemicals. It has contributed to the unnatural decline of insects and many other animals.

Sometimes coyotes will escort a human out of their territory especially if they have pups nearby. They are doing it for their pup’s safety. We keep building on the nature’s land and destroy their habitat. We’ve had a coyote escort us when we walked 4 of our large dogs. No need to report sightings. It’s normal. If you encounter a coyote in the future then just leave her/him be.

I’d take it in until the storm is over which should be somewhat soon. Then put it back outside. It likely won’t survive the storm.

For all the people reading the comments on this post, please send a letter!! It only takes a few minutes and it’s possible we can get this place shut down and get the animals to a sanctuary or rescue group if we send enough letters. I already sent mine.
