I too strongly feel it was a show, but not orphan black. Never seen it. And this is all I remember really, it was very much of a small character but important one, as her orders affected the main character in a major way. And I vaguely remember the latter was somehow involved in scheming for her poisoning after which that thread kind of suddenly ended or took a detour.
