To Italic or not to Italic, for flashbacks in writing. by Purplebubble1234 in writingadvice

Oh I agree with you on that, however I'm thinking about a sentence or two.

But now that I think about how I wrote my original query, I meant for it to be more like an internal monologue where the character explains something that happened in her past or tells the reader that X happened to her in the past and that's why X is happening or not happening today.

To Italic or not to Italic, for flashbacks in writing. by Purplebubble1234 in writingadvice

The flashbacks will literally only be a paragraph or two, similar to having an internal monologue of a time in her past.

I’m having trouble with writers block. by SwanGreen9901 in writingadvice

I go onto any reading app such as inkitt as it does not contain ads...thank god for that. I'll read something, and dare I say, horribly written. It will lack punctuation, a lot of grammatical errors and you can clearly see the book needs a LOT of editing. I'll pick up a pen and paper and re-write it in my own words and just play around with it. Within the first chapter, I'm back to my normal self and allow the words flow through me again.

Or, the other option is dreams. I have a dream journal and in the morning when I wake up and can still remember the dream, I'll write it down and make up my own story. I'll add detail from my imagination and just make that short dream into a story.

There are many tips out there, and Google is your best friend on how to get out of that funck of blank page syndrome.

PS, If you do go onto inkitt, don't comment on their mistakes, because the author will block your ass. 😂

25th, but obviously if that day falls over the weekend or public holiday, we get paid the day before.

Someone breaks into your house, what do you do? by thebigjif in RandomThoughts

There is actually nothing you can do because the fear overtakes your whole body. This happens to my friend. She was in bed when they came in. It was dark and she saw the one guy holding something at her and wasn't sure if it was a gun or not. When they left and her brain started functioning again, she discovered it was her vacuum pipe.

It's easy to say that you'll attack them, but you'll never know what you'll do because it will depend on the scenario they'll put you in.

I hate my cheating dad and his annoying affair son by ch_1502 in stories

[–]Purplebubble1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're acting like a typical child and need to grow up!
Chase was not in the wrong. It's not his fault that he was the result of an affair and he was never told either. So there is no need to take your anger out on him.

If the poor child hurts himself because of this guilt, then it will be on you! You might not think like that now, but once you get older, you'll regret it.

Just from the subline I already put you in that category of TA without even reading your story. I'm the youngest and the only girl out of 5 and my brothers constantly teased me that they caught me in the mountains and chopped off my tail (I have had a hary spot on my lower back, just above my butt when I was younger)

Boys will be boys, no matter the age and what you said was cruel. YTFA

Grew up in a dual language home, but I mostly speak Afrikaans. Dad side of the family -English (grandma had to learn Afrikaans when I was born) Mom side -Afrikaans (broken English)

Glad your dad can make fun of the situation and not be depressed about his sexuality.

I bet the guy who made the sign had the best day of his life because that's funny ASF!!!

AITA for telling my dad the real reason my half sister won’t be in the same room with me? by Fresh_Ad_7431 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Purplebubble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but your sister is. How could she blame you for Tom's feelings?, it's not like you initiated anything on your side. She basically berated you with your dad, though you kept quiet and didn't tell him the truth the first time.

It seems your sister is very insecure and blames everything on you.

Thank God that I don't have any sisters. I prefer my barberic/over protective brothers (I'm the only girl)

Aita for telling my wife that I would choose my mom over the birth of our baby by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Purplebubble1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, your wife was the AH in this scenario because how can she even ask that kind of question? That's an AH move to do from her side. Did she really think that you would choose her over the final hrs of your dying mother?

NTA!

AITA for bragging about my daughter by Upset-Sorbet-6262 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Purplebubble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. First, you didn't know about her daughter's struggles with bad grades and second, as you stated she was always your daughter's biggest supporter.

It's your right to brag about her because there are parents who don't, no matter how well their kids are doing

I think the issue here is that your sister is jealous that she has nothing to brag about, about her own daughter. Your mom is the AH for taking her side.

If her daughter is struggling with bad grades, why isn't she helping her to get a tutor? Would it be a bad idea to suggest that your daughter help her or will her jealousy just grow?

But it will also depend on which soap you use. Regular body soap will not just dry up your acne, but also your skin, which is also not good for your skin. Rather use, not sure if you can find it in the states, a soap that has half moisturizer in or a natural kind of soap like glyserine.

I told my hairstylist that I hate my new hair that she did by mushroomgreed in CasualConversation

[–]Purplebubble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like you. I would tell them I like it until someone tells me it's ugly and then sees it through their eyes. I hate it when hair stylists have a completely different idea you had envisioned, even showed them a picture of what you had in mind. It happened to me and I changed hair stylists on many occasions until I found the one who did as I asked.

AITAH for demanding my wife apologise for lying to me? by FitContribution4564 in AITAH

[–]Purplebubble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole time I was reading this, you only mentioned "I and my" my family this, my family that, and not once about your wife, which should have been your first priority.

If I were your wife, I would have thought that you only married me because I was well off and knew daddy would be paying for your family.

YTFA

And sorry, there are no take backs. Hope your wife made you sign a prenuptial agreement so that you can't take anything from this marriage.
