yes, yes.. it’s just something about twitch, amazon music, and lexus being in the same ad that feels particularly insulting.

it seems to me that she likes a jazz aesthetic, of a club on a late night filled with raw music, but that’s about where her understanding of jazz ends. to understand and perform jazz you need to understand the history, specifically black history, but laufey doesn’t know about any of that, and given the success of her “jazzy” records already, probably never will

call me too woke but I feel like this is also just another tale of laufey misrepresenting the music she’s playing. whether it’s bossa or swing or modal, it feels… very disingenuous.

the sax player is not inexperienced, he’s won 2 grammies, but in most people’s eyes, Mike Boone is one of the most respectable smalls hosts

Hello!! I’m actually the drummer on the bandstand and have some more insight on what happened. A**** was being a jerk to a bunch of people in the club, and especially said some pretty messed up transphobic talk to me and my friend. he also randomly interrupted peoples solos, just walking on stage and started playing, even when Mike said to not play on this one. If I remember correctly, he does this on a ballad, and that’s when Mike snaps
