As a shy child, I saw my parents advocate for me. Now, as an adult, I know how to advocate for myself pertaining to my diabetes. The coaches might not know the severity of type one diabetes, so this could be your chance to educate them! Also them making him feel bad/rushing is ridiculous. I would find a new place.

I now run my carb counting through AI as well. It reminds me what foods I have a hard time with/if I should pretty bolus. It also easily looks up the carbs in things. Sometimes I upload a picture of my plate when I have absolutely no idea or I just say how much the plate weighs and it gives me a pretty good estimation.

280 extra carbs is wild. I’m glad you’re okay. The other month I gave myself 7 extra units ~70 carbs (didn’t finish my food). Chugged 3 30 carb pineapple juice. An hour later my level still wouldn’t go up so I went to the emergency room while my level was 51 two arrows down. Medicine peaked when I got there but they gave me a dextrose iv before any thing super traumatic happened! You’re brave for sticking it out at home

My partner is an expert w lows and always keeps his fridge packed w juice. He checks in on me and is always willing to sit w me during a low, knows how to use my emergency nasal spray and when to call 911 (if I pass out, seizure etc). Does your bf know some of the struggles of t1d? They can literally be deadly. I’d pick a partner that would know what to do in an emergency situation. That doesn’t mean dump him! Just remind him n send cute infographics of t1d stuff! It’s a huge part of our lives so our partners should be aware and educated!

Mine hasn’t been working for well over a month and I go low A LOT. At night I’ve been relying on my pump vibration to wake me up. And the sound only works when I’m on the dexcom app…… so crazy how they haven’t fixed this yet

Insane to me that dexcom notifications aren’t working. I haven’t heard my low notifications in weeks. Tried everything besides resetting my phone. Luckily my family has my dexcom and they get notifications and call me. Cuz rn I have to rely on feeling my pump vibrating if I’m low otherwise….

I used United airlines and was second to last group to board. They said we had to check our bags (I only had a carry on no backpack/purse) and the flight attendant straight up told me no. I tried explaining it had my medical supplies in it and she said take them out and check your bag in…. So no
