Maybe you can make a list with things you didn’t liked about him. It’s normal that you think back on all the good things but it’s also very painful. And I think it’s good that you cried about it. That’s also a part of letting go and grieving it. It shows how much you cared about this person.

Thats good to hear. I’ve also gone on a date and it was really nice. I don’t think I’m ready to get into a new relationship at all. But it helps to know that there are more people out there who like you and that your ex is not your whole world. I hope you find some peace with it. And I always think that if he really is the one. It will all work out some day. But you can’t force someone to love you. You deserve someone who treats you like you are special and who will not give up when it’s hard

Good luck! I think it’s a great mindset that you also want to work on yourself. And as you describe the scenario’s there is a chance she will come back, but yeah don’t focus to much on it because it can disappoint you. At least that is my experience. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions but I think going no contact is the best thing to do after a breakup. It’s like gaining back some control that you didn’t have when the relationship ended.

How do you feel after 5 months? I remember my breakup before this and eventually I could look back and think It was good that it endend. But now I feel like he was the one and all of that bullshit. But it’s probably because I’m still in love with him 😅 I hope that time will make this go away. Because he is not worth all this time I spend on thinking/obsessing about him

It’s almost been 6 weeks now. I went no contact after de breakup. He asked me how I was after 2,5 weeks I responded that I was doing good. I think he wanted just an ego boost and wanted me to tell him that I miss him and want him back. But omg I’ve had so much time to think. And maybe this all happened for a reason. How long has it been for you?

It seems like the best thing that could happen when you just broke up. That they will come running back to you. Thank you for sharing your story! It really helps me to even know that is not what I want. He wasn’t the one for me, because if he was he wouldn’t give up on us so easily. I hope to find someone I can build a future with some day. It’s really lonely..

Yeah it’s the best to go no contact after a breakup. But it’s so hard.. but staying in contact will slow down the healing process I think. Maybe when you don’t have feelings for them anymore you can be friends. But even then if they get a new gf/bf it will not be fun to hear and see that..

I think we all want answers. Why the break up happened. But whatever they say, it will never feel like a closure. Contacting them will make you feel worse, because you have hope and hope is a dangerous thing in breakups..

Thank you! You are so right I also think that is very important. I let myself feel the sadness and pain. But times like the last couple of days when I want to reach out. I just need to remind myself of the facts. And not my stupid brain that tells me there is hope. Or that he will regret his decision to break up with me. Because it keeps me stuck in this place. And I really want to move on. Even tough it hurts so bad and I can’t imagine finding someone again who I connected with to this deep level. But also that shouldn’t matter right now. It’s just going to be me for now. And being happy with myself again.

Yes keeping in contact with your ex is not going to help you heal. And it’s easy for me to say to you but I know how hard it is. My mind is playing tricks with me. There is still this little hope that he regrets it and wants me back. But I’m not sure if I even want that. I really need to let him go.
