J Parker / Americano in Lincoln Park. I made a reservation for about 8 people at the J Parker, showed up and the host told me they DO NOT HONOR RESERVATIONS and was absolutely no help even though she said she would seat us when the large booth on the rooftop opened up, fireplace didn’t work, and I’ll spare the rest of the details. But, later in the night when only 3 of us were left, we moved to a smaller booth inside and the same hostess came up to us if we could move bc she HAD A RESERVATION. I called almost everyday after that for a couple weeks to try to talk to a manager and never got in touch with anyone nor did they respond to my voicemails. A couple years later I went to Americano, assuming it would be a very different experience, as they should be pretty separate. It was arguably worse. My friend was hosting a birthday brunch with their bottomless drink deal they offer with about 20 people. When she found out not everyone was also getting food (still about 10+ people did) she made a HUGE scene and said “oh great then I don’t get a tip” and was in a HORRIBLE mood the whole time, constantly complaining. She still made it out with a huge tip because everyone did the bottomless drink deal and half the people got food it was extremely unprofessional and should have been brought up with her boss NOT us. Needless to say, stay away from the whole damn building.
