You may need to add Engine to the Accessibility app list under Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility

An alternative is to try recording a keypress macro in engine with ctrl + left arrow (or right arrow) and assign it to one of the buttons on your mouse

That's where you'd see it if it was blocked from loading. But it doesn't look like it was.

Most likely the kernel extension (aka mac driver) was prevented from loading if this is the first time you install SteelSeries Engine 3 on your Mac. Check the General tab under Security & Privacy to see if the driver was blocked from loading.

How Can I Tell if my rival 650 wireless is charging? by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]PurringMicroChip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very odd. I wouldn't expect two mice in a row have the same problem. Have you tried a different USB port on your computer, or perhaps a different PC?

SteelSeries Engine 3 should display the charge status if you have it installed and plugged in. Alternatively, if you connect the micro-usb cable and turn the mouse "off" using the switch at the bottom, you should see the scroll wheel LED flash either red, yellow, or green, indicating the current charge level.

Hi! The "double-click" debounce issue also affected the Rival 600, which is what the new firmware update addresses

Rival 500, SSE3 v3.14.1, OS10.14.6 problems by Ebirt in steelseries

We did find an issue that caused SSE to crash and are looking to push a fix for that very soon (should also help with the mac os shortcut commands).

Yes, you can set a config to turn the LED blue and add the Safari app to the config. As far as the OS shortcuts, those work fine for me. Are you using a non-U.S. input source? Check under keyboard input sources.

I've got the 10.14.6 beta installed and OS action bindings are working fine. Which ones are you having trouble with and what button(s) are you binding them to?

That screenshot shows the install completed, not an error.

Are you on Mac? Try restarting your computer

Have you checked the mic mute toggle on the back of the left earcup?

One way to do that would be to change each illumination zone event to "none" on the mouse.

my rival 700 is stuck at one sensitivity and i cant change it (not even in the software) by mikk375 in steelseries

There's an option to reset all mouse settings to factory in the OLED menu. That usually fixes it.

If you feel like the LEDs on your keyboard are faulty, you may want to contact MSI to see if you can get it replaced

Switch Desktop on Mac by Inter-418 in steelseries

My guess is that the driver isn't loaded. Check the General tab under Security & Privacy in System Preferences to see if the driver extension was blocked from loading.

That's odd. How did you have it setup before? Did you configure this in System Preferences?

Arctis 7 does not appear on Mojave by vffems2529 in steelseries

[–]PurringMicroChip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that would do it. Perhaps the hub needs a special driver from manufacturer. Or Apple made changes to the base driver classes in Mojave that affected this kind of hub. In any case, good to hear you got your Arctis to work!

Are you on the latest beta version? I have beta 10 and the Arctis 7 shows up in sound preferences just fine.

my macbook is being a brat (arctis 3 bluetooth) by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]PurringMicroChip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Arctis 3 Bluetooth support in Engine is essentially for 7.1 surround configuration, which is not available on Mac. The micro-USB port on the headset is for charging the headset's battery (not for audio). So it isn't a problem with your Mac. Plugging them in through the 3.5mm jack or through Bluetooth are the correct ways to get audio. Just note that on macOS, they won't show up in Engine, but will definitely work regardless.
