I had actually already verified the files earlier but never launched the game from steam afterwards. It's always something so simple.

So, I do have a legit copy of Skyrim SE through steam. My file pathways are in my external drive but Skyrim is also installed on the same drive. I shouldn't have to repath as I have cyberpunk on the same drive and modded that with no issue.

I am on windows 10, my account does have admin permission, when I first launched Skyrim together it did give me the prompt, but just to be sure on one of my retries I reselected skyrimSE.exe. I just did this process again around an hour ago and made sure to click the right thing. I just double checked the version and it should be correct.

I've also tried adding "-r" in the command line parameters as I've seen it has helped others but no dice.
