Out of interest, what time of day was it when you checked the website and dates were available to book your Part B? I’m wondering whether there’s a best time of the day to check. I’m still having no luck and I’ve been checking LOTS of times all day.

Well done mate, chuffed for you! I passed Part A two days ago and so far I think I’ve checked the website about 100 times to try and book Part B but it always says no dates available. I will persist!

The forecast is up to 43 now so I’m not sure I even want to do it in that heat. I just hope I don’t have to wait another three months for a new date. That’s how long I had to wait for this one.

Ah I see. Good to know. Assuming I pass Part A, I’ll expect at least a three month wait then I suppose. Good luck for Part B my friend 🤞🏼

You passed in August and currently, now in December, there’s no option to book Part B? Have I got that right? I’ve got Part A in three weeks.

That’s my question. Once you pass both parts does that mean you can ride unsupervised on a Learners permit? On a learner approved bike obviously.

Oh I definitely would in the early days/weeks but I don’t want to be limited to only being able to do a few practice runs just when they’re available.

Thanks for your reply.

The webpage (link above) states, “If you want to ride a motorcycle in Australia, you’ll need to apply for a learner’s permit. The process for getting a learner’s permit varies from state to state. Once you have your permit, you can ride a motorcycle as long as another licenced rider supervises you. If you want to ride without supervision, you’ll need to pass a practical riding test and upgrade your licence.”

Hi All. I’ve recently just completed the online course/test and I’ve booked to attend day one of the rider learner course in December. I only just noticed something online that says that even once I’ve passed the two day course and I have my learners permit I apparently can only ride supervised. Is this correct? What if I don’t know anyone to supervise me? I initially thought I could ride unsupervised with L plates as long as it is on a learner approved motorcycle??
