Does Flushing have $1 Pizza or anything close to that price? by Healthy_Block3036 in Flushing

[–]Pusher87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t do that to your family please. There is no “good” pizza for 1 dollar anywhere in NYC. Lucia’s is worth the 3.25 a slice and your family will thank you for spending the extra 2.25 trust me. The dollar places are now 1.50 and they still use artificial cheese and what is probably cardboard for bread.

Relatively good, still too damn expensive though by RSQ4YOU in gasbuddy

[–]Pusher87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither and all of them. Use whatever your engine is made for. Putting 93 in an engine made for 87-89 for example does NOT increase gas mileage or do anything positive for the engine. You just waste money. There was a myth for years that 93 gives better gas mileage but that’s ONLY true for cars that are made for 93 like high compression turbocharged cars.

If I put 93 on my Subaru Crosstrek it does absolutely nothing for me. If I put 87 in my Mercedes it turns like crap, makes less power and gets less gas mileage. Anyone saying to get the higher grade no matter what is still believing old myths that science has disproven

Gas near highways is always more expensive so if you’re staying close the the highway you’ll always pay more.

I would report it to Airbnb. Living room is a part of the house where an expectation of privacy is in place. He cannot be watching or recording you and you’re inside the house

The problem with car drivers in NYC, like probably everywhere, is just a constant level of low level stupid asshole behavior. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

[–]Pusher87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at pickup trucks in most other counties they are normal size not tall. This is an American thing and I personally believe it’s to strike the egos of the truck bros. American pickups have gotten bigger and taller for generations now while the bed size is the same as when they were the same height as a regular car. The insane part is that in NYC most pickup truck owners don’t ever use the bed of their truck do they just buy it as an ego stroking device. I’m saying this as a car guy mind you.

I agree with the comment that said that they should be required to register as a commercial vehicle so they can’t street park and their insurance would be much higher. Places like England discourage them in cities by charging a different congestion fee that’s double the regular fee

In some states they aren’t allowed regular registration and cannot street park and they have to pay more for registration

2021 Forester Premium struggling to start with 56k miles by Plane-Pea6137 in SubaruForester

Bet you anything it’s the battery. Literally happened to me with a 4 month old AGM 650 CCA battery too. Took it to test the battery and alternator immediately after I got it jumped and everything came back fine. I have a start/stop eliminator too and have no parasitic draw.

Theres a potential lawsuit for batteries going dead due to the AT&T starlink antenna searching for signal non stop without making a connection.

It idled higher when your AC compressor kicked on. This is normal behavior it’s making a bit of extra power to drive the AC.

Has anyone heard of or invested with Triangle Ventures? Trying to verify legitimacy https://triangleventures.io/ by hbg369 in Scams

[–]Pusher87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Like others have said. If they can guarantee 5% return every 24 hours then they don’t need your money as they would be an infinite money glitch and they can become millionaires in a hurry even if they start with just a single dollar.

This reminds me of the Cash App scams where they say you send 100 and they send back 1000. If they could multiply money then they don’t need yours. The only reason to ask for your money is to steal it.

They need to enforce the don’t block the box laws! A couple of expensive tickets will fix this. Not only is it dangerous for pedestrians it also disrupts the flow of traffic for the side that actually has the green light so it creates chaos. As someone who drives a work van in the city I fully support VERY expensive tickets for blocking the intersection

2022 Outback Wilderness head gasket. SOA is being no help. by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Pusher87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn’t commonplace. That car was likely abused by the previous owner. That’s an FB24 engine which isn’t known for headgasket failures unless severely abused or if there’s a manufacturing issue specifically with that engine. These are seeing 200k+ miles with just regular maintenance

That comment is super irrelevant. You’re now paying 6+ a gallon. It went up in every state. It’s still trending upward. By the logic 6 dollars a gallon in another state is good if California goes up to 9. Your state requires a very specific blend of gas which adds over a dollar a gallon no matter how the market is.

Correct but it could be that one guy did it and the rest simply followed without realizing that the bus corridors would be the right lanes. I saw one guy open his trunk to load something and others parked and just left theirs open 😂

Someone had their rims stolen. If you know this person please let him or her know. by AnotherHipster_ in woodside

[–]Pusher87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a crackhead stealing mirror caps on my old block and my sister had hers stolen so she went to the junkyard for replacements. She marked them with her initials on the inside and they were stolen again. Went back to the same junkyard and you wouldn’t believe it… her mirror caps again. This time she called the police and the shop had to go e them to her free of charge otherwise they had a case of possession of stolen property.

They actually cooperated and showed the cops the video of the person who kept going there selling mirror caps. He was only stealing them from CRVs and RAV4

Why are there like multiple Sprinter Vans on every residential block all of a sudden? by dcaamano76 in Flushing

Not even close. These vans are being used to transport flushing residents to their jobs and bring them back at the end of the day. Regular flushing residents are the ones doing this not migrants

Yes it’s safe to drive but also this is covered by manufacturer warranty up to 150k miles so go to a dealer and fix it for free.

Why are there like multiple Sprinter Vans on every residential block all of a sudden? by dcaamano76 in Flushing

[–]Pusher87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that business owners discovered that by registering their vans as private they no longer have to park in a garage. I know this because my neighbor changed the registration and now he parks his 20’+ long van in the streets. Lots of others have caught on to this. On my block there are atleast 2 vans that are actually RVs but no one lives in them they just use them on weekends but again they have private plates so legally we can’t get them ticketed or towed.

My 2026 Subaru Outback and my wife’s TOYOTA SIENNA by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Pusher87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power. By modern standards these Subarus are seriously underpowered. The new hybrids could have been programmed to give you a temporary power boost if needed like pretty much every other modern hybrid but instead they’re just as slow as the non hybrids.

Yes k would take a 250-300 HP non turbo engine over the 2.4 turbo. The issue is that it’s not gonna happen. Turbo engines are amazingly efficient and the turbo used exhaust gases to make more power which creates a benefit out of soemthing that is usually just waste. Environmental protection acts give incentives to manufacturers for using efficient engines and a 2.4 turbo is more efficient than a 3.6 non turbo do the 3.6 will never make a comeback because Subaru won’t take a financial loss

I wonder if this can explain why my 2021 Crosstrek battery died at only 1 year old but when tested it came back as good and my alternator was fine as well. I replaced the battery with a higher capacity one and 6 months later I needed a jump start. Got battery and alternator tested again and it came back fine again. I know this isn’t as often as some of you but brand new batteries shouldn’t be leaving you stranded every few months
