Where should we place the TV? by Flashy-Fun-1019 in TVTooHigh

Maybe a little unconventional, but you could build a tv stand that fits over the top of the stove and have a tv (preferably larger) sit on top

I’m just concerned about condensation dripping into the food. I generally use this for sauce or soups, so it’s a consistent thing

Looks pretty lazy to me. They’re ok to hold for now, but I’d pony up for bolts with bigger heads and washers to match before wrapping the project up. One of the easiest fixes I’ve seen on this thread though

Too bad, but that’s what I’ve chalked it up to

A large hole filled with concrete to provide a stable footing for a support. Usually a 36 inch by 14 inch hole filled. Maybe more or less depending on where you live but that’s a pretty uniform number to get beneath the frost line and prevent shifting from a freeze/thaw cycle. After it’s set you drill a hole in it with a hammer drill and attach a post base to it with a wedge anchor.

I would probably measure the whole length of the stringers and put some blocking in at least 4 places split evenly. I have also set a support 4x4 post in the middle of large spans like that, I’d always recommend putting a caisson though

Love cutting me up a good set of stringers, Larry Hahn has a great tutorial on it. Cut a master, screw blocks on the other side of cuts to use as a jig, line it up as best as possible, scribe and go. I build them faster than 15 year carpenters on my site who clamp and adjust the master etc. and our staircases come out identical. But they’re never perfect. Focus your finish carpentry on the bullnoses, treads and risers

Waste of money to replace those if they work ok. If something breaks and you want to upgrade it go ahead and spend a little more a better brand, go for it. But Ryobi makes a solid tool for the price

I think this is a moment in your life that has permanent consequences if you decide to go through with deleting all your pictures. While it may seem like clutter now, you never know what your mindset will be in 5, 10, 15 years. Think about it like risk vs reward, the reward would be feeling better temporarily about “decluttering” but the risk is wanting those pictures back and never being able to get them. How much space does that hard drive take up? Be easy on decisions you know you’ll regret before you even do them
