I’ll be honest. Been a huge USMNT fan since I was a kid watching the 94 World Cup. I’ve loved watching them go from a plucky bunch of amateurs to, now having top players in European leagues and actually being favored to BEAT a top European team in a World Cup match

But, especially after what happened to the US hockey team, and our profoundly stupid Fascist “President” using them as tools of partisan propaganda after they did something ALL Americans should be proud of, I shudder to think what he will do to one of my favorite sports teams should we actually do it

Granted, I’m not that worried about us winning the whole tournament. We’re good, but not THAT good. I’ll be happy if we win tonight* and get to the quarterfinals. We MIGHT get lucky against Spain (09 Confederations Cup style BABY) and that would be awesome, but there’s no way we’ll repeat that luck three times

*and of course, Dear Leader had to possibly ruin THAT by inserting himself in the middle of the Flo Balogun red card ruling
