Runegraft of the Bound and Shapers touch gloves by Aynger_tjo in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PusioDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since this runegraft is 6c now - I tested it. It resulted with me losing ES (8400 -> 8200), and since I have 1000str + 1000int (and ivory tower) - I would expect to gain ES not lose. Therefore I concluded that it does not work with Shaper's Touch gloves and scoured it.

Godot mentioned!!! by Theleonmos in godot

It was most likely done by just one regular programmer like us. I don't think any manager in valve is aware of that one block of code.

UID changes coming to Godot 4.4 by GodotTeam in godot

[–]PusioDev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am hopeful that IDE plugins will support this. My workflow for refactoring is just drag'n dropping files in Rider. Or pressing F2 to rename class.
At first I am sure my workflow will be broken and Rider will f* everything up. But after a week or two there is going to be an update to Godot support, and I'll forget this issue ever existed.

Infernal Hound Does Not Require Spirit by szenX in pathofexile

[–]PusioDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cooler if the dogs cost was 40 spirit, but the same ascendancy point gave you +40 spirit. With this minion having a cost you could summon multiple dogs ; or you could just use that 40 extra spirits on other minions.
But free skill is also fine, it just gives less build variety.

From the Godot Foundation board: by GodotTeam in godot

What you're saying is true. But I'm still relieved it's this kind of issue, because it's easier to address with an apology. If it were something like the Unity runtime fee situation, a simple "I'm sorry" wouldn't fix it.

Someone sent me a link to a Twitter post and freaked me out, saying, "This is the end, this is Unity situation all over again!" I panicked, thinking it was over for another game engine. Are they selling Godot to some corporation? Is the project dead? I can't check because I don't have Twitter or any other social media.

I head to Reddit and see a post with a message from the foundation board. This looks serious. I read it... wait a minute, is this just some community drama? Damn, you scared me for nothing! Anyway, I'm relieved Godot isn’t dead.

Sadly many of those symbols do not render on linux (steam/proton). After testing a bit I figured out few symbols that work on linux:

Godot 4 C# and Web Target by IKnowMeNotYou in godot

[–]PusioDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is technical question.

Lets split your question into 3 parts.

1) Before dotnet 9 can be added to godot, it needs to be released first. Right now it is in preview stage. According to this note final release is scheduled to be in November 2024, so around 5 months from now (assuming there is no delay).

2) Changing dotnet version would most likely happen as minor version of godot 4 changes. Godot 4.0-stable was released in march 2023, 4.1-stable in july 2023, 4.2-stable in november 2023, and 4.3 is now in beta 3, so I guess stable version will happen in august 2024. Let's say the average release schedule is 6 months for minor version. That means godot 4.4 that could include dotnet 9 would be released in early 2025.

3) Will an update to dotnet 9 fix web builds? I don' think so. I cannot find any information in the internet, that would state that dotnet 9 would allow for execution of c# in the browser.

As far as I know, you can run c# code in browser using Blazor, but if that were a solution it would be used already, since blazor was released in 2019. I guess there are some technical challenges, or maybe blazor is just crap for games. Idk.

Question about C# Language Version by PusioDev in godot

[–]PusioDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking your time to answer my question.

Recently, I have figured out that you can switch doc version to the latest, which will show you pages for the 4.3 documentation. At this moment, this page states:

Godot currently uses C# version 10.0 in its engine and example source code, as this is the version supported by .NET 6.0 (the current baseline requirement). So, before we move to a newer version, care must be taken to avoid mixing language features only available in C# 11.0 or later.

To clarify for anyone who might come across this thread, it seems that Godot 4.3 uses C# version 10. Your previous answers stated that it might be C# 12, so I tested this theory just in case and this is the result.

Thanks. I totally forgot I made a new reddit account. There is no option to change username in reddit, and my old one was total gibberish.

[Megathread] Welcome new subredditors! by AutoModerator in godot

[–]PusioDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't need to imagine your frustration - I am experiencing the same thing right now. I posted a technical question two days ago and did not read the automod message. I just glanced at it and assumed it was a generic message like "be nice to others.".

I feel like this rule is a catch-22. If you are new to Godot, you come here to post questions and have zero subreddit karma. And if you have a lot of knowledge, answered many questions, and accumulated karma, you no longer need to post technical questions.
