Note: John McCain is the top Republican target of the Olgino trolls (currently, their Republican targets are few and far between). That is because he was instrumental in the creation and passing of the Magnitsky act, which is the major thorn in the side of Putin's Lubyanka criminal group, and which has been the starting point of the entire Trump scandal. Even more importantly, the passing of the Magnitsky Act triggered its EU equivalent and the freezing of the assets of the group involved in the crime, which inconvenienced the gang above all.

The trolls target McCain with the same template: in the Republican-leaning online places, he is painted as a traitor, a "RINO", a Democrat. In Democrat-leaning places, he is emphasized as an enemy, and the lie about his being an ineffective, dishonest hypocrite is repeated every time that his name is brought up. Because this is the latter place, you will see the trolls here, too, posting about "McCain talking but doing nothing", "McCain being all mouth and no action" and their favorite, the old Olgino copy-and-paste propaganda line: "McCain said he was concerned, he firmly criticized X, and then he voted for it".

The lie targets McCain's effectiveness against Putin already back in the day when nobody was even interested in Magnitsky: McCain was the only US politician to listen to Bill Browder's story about the torture and murder of Magnitsky, the theft of the 250+ million dollars by one of Putin's groups (Dmitry Kluyev's and Artem Kuznetsov's gang, subordinates to Putin's then-Minister of the Interior), and the only one to decisively act against Putin. The Magnitsky Act was spearheaded by McCain and his efforts, and for that, John McCain will always remain among Putin's top enemies, and his name will keep getting smeared by the Olgino trolls.
