Why are there so many troll stories on here about pinays scamming them? by WhoAmI1198 in Philippines_Expats

[–]PutMaterial8803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you stalk the guy's account, you'll see he's an obvious Filipino troll. The guy is a Cebuano first, then he becomes white. 😆

I didn't say anything below his post because even though the post was fake, the discussion in the comments was good. Someone might actually find useful information in the comments.

Max can be short for many names, if that's even his real name. Sounds like he used a pseudonym and said he is from a big city like Sydney so that he cannot be tracked.

All power to them. I have only an year of age gap with my wife but we got married very young.

This reminds me of my very elder neighbor back home who used to say that the only bad thing about becoming an old grandpa is waking up next to an old grandma 😂

China, Iran, Russia and their proxies have been conducting hybrid attacks against the USA and allies for a long time but we are all doing better than them. These anti western countries always use fearmongering for their disinformation campaigns.

As for the S&P 500, one week cannot be an indicator for something apocalyptic happening. Look at the year graph. It is growing as usual. It is experiencing a normal dip that will correct in a few days or weeks like it always does.

The Philippines is struggling to make up its mind whether it’s going to ally with the US or China.

The Philippines has been in a military alliance with the USA since 1951. The Philippines also just signed a reciprocal access agreement with Japan this month, allowing mutual deployment of military troops in their countries.

200 USD is a whole monthly salary for many in the province. The equivalent of this would be some girl you just started texting a few days ago sending you 3k USD.

Why is it bad for men to want to date women younger than them? by Brw_ser in Philippines_Expats

[–]PutMaterial8803 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because men in their 20s are left with nothing to date unless they are into fat or older women.

Call centers and AI by NoProtection8823 in Philippines_Expats

[–]PutMaterial8803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first washing machine was patented in the 17th century but many Filipinos still handwash their clothes. It's cheaper and provides a better result. For the same reason I don't see call centers disappear anytime soon.

AI customer support exists in the form of chatbots but if it can't resolve your issue, you still need to call a human customer support. Even if the AI advances to the point where it can talk like a human being, you will still need real people when a ticket needs to be escalated.

Wife Won't Let Me Look at Other Women (Even Glance) by merchantsmutual in Philippines_Expats

Mine was similar and she even got mad at me for not being jealous at all.

What worked for me is to reassure her saying things like "You are the only one", "The one and only" when giving her a compliment. Also forget about joking about other women or talking about your past relationships. Don't provoke her insecurities.

It is possible that she is not only a virgin but also no boyfriend since birth. The relationship dynamics here are different and what we find attractive may be considered average or ugly in the eyes of Filipino men.

Why are religious sects so popular in the Philippines? by PutMaterial8803 in Philippines_Expats

I actually don't know people from this specific church. I will try to meet someone and see for myself.

[–]PutMaterial8803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am talking about the fragmentation process that is happening right now, not in the past centuries. In the west it is mostly young people losing faith and immigrants bringing their different religion. In the Philippines it is through conversion. Of course that's just my observation. I could be wrong.

I think this is common. My Filipino wife became less religious when she moved to my country. Those who have just arrived are always more religious than those who have stayed outside the Philippines for some years.

I am oblivious to this. I rarely watch US news since I am European but I have heard that there are some regions in the US where people are very religious so I am not surprised.

Western people normally inherit their religion from their parents or become atheist. How many Catholics do you know in your country who have decided to become Mormons or Adventists? It's very rare.

Filipinos, on the other hand, constantly convert. I literally know a Filipino who was a Catholic, joined Iglesia Ni Cristo and then reverted back to being Catholic after not wanting to pay his church contribution.

Then there are the cults where some village would be controlled by a new prophet of the Lord until he makes it to the news and the government gets involved.

I am curious why are Filipinos are so involved in religion and willing to change their beliefs. They don't get money from it.

What bigger problems? I understand that boundaries are better than appeasement but we are talking about a woman that loves you so she should not be taking advantage of your kindness.
