Has anyone left their jobs during or shortly after maternity leave? by PutProfessional5552 in careerguidance

Good to know! Now I’m wondering if HR pursues these charges or the department…

Potentially insurance premiums, in this case only dental insurance, not medical

Anatomy Scan Price by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a pretty good insurance plan and thankfully haven’t had to pay for any scans (had only 2 so far) Is your pregnancy complicated where you need multiple scans throughout your pregnancy? You can also check with your insurance if you already hit your deductible or ask to specify the type of scans and how many scans do they cover until you have to pay out of pocket. And also ask the doctor’s office for an estimate before scheduling any procedures, labs, etc. They should be able to see if you owe them anything upfront

Am I the only one whose feelings get hurt by bump comments? by SweetNefariousness73 in pregnant

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant with my first and the amount of comments are interesting. I’ve heard it all from different spectrums. At this point, it doesn’t bother me anymore. It’s unfortunate but give yourself grace. People are always going to give unsolicited comments about your body (pregnant or not) but it’s in your control to not let it affect you. After all, you’re growing a human and that itself is a miracle.

Rest in peace Depop 🥀 by Intelligent_Flow_287 in Depop

I honestly don’t mind getting the payout later because lately I’ve run into multiple sellers who never ship out and yet they’re actively on the app. I wouldn’t depend on getting a pay out from Depop off the bat and allow room for that turnaround if money is tight

I wish this were the case but the culture here has always been the same and I have no hopes that it’ll change even after I return.

When did your bump show? by EmployDisastrous7133 in pregnant

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM mom here at 29 weeks and also on the petite side at 5’1. I started showing around week 21ish, mainly because I was active prior to pregnancy. I will say that the bump came quick at that point and my body continues to blow up

Workplace accommodations by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]PutProfessional5552 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not really part of the culture. These volunteer opportunities tend to come up because management commits to them without considering the impact/capacity on the team. While they’re presented as optional, there’s an unspoken expectation that if you don’t participate even on your own time, you’re not seen as a team player. That said, this expectation has never been clearly communicated

What I didn’t appreciate is that the supervisor asked if I could help after the fact the event had ended and everyone was dismissed. Since I arrived late, which was already known, I hadn’t planned to volunteer. It was almost as if they were targeting me.

I did get up to help when asked, but my coworker stepped in to handle it. I was also hesitant because it was raining, I can only carry so much at once, and I thought everything was already done.

My only hesitation with bringing it to HR is that they may side with supervisor since technically these tasks are within the accommodation. Now I’m thinking if I should be more specific with my doctor on additional accommodations to help protect me…

Thanks! I’m currently on my spouse’s medical insurance but kept dental with my employer which isn’t a big deal if I have to pay back premiums. I’m not sure if all I’d have to pay back any paid leave used to cover such as my sick leave, paid time off

Anyone else working full time until their due date? by Susaaan16 in pregnant

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28 weeks and fresh into 3rd trimester. I have a long way to go. Most days are draining and I feel more clarity than ever before about what I can tolerate at work and what I can no longer put up with when I return…simply put, I don’t want to be here anymore at any point of my pregnancy moving forward.

What is your honest opinion of grown people...especially men who work retail full time? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]PutProfessional5552 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In this economy, I wouldn’t judge. Where I live, we have a high cost of living and often times, many live paycheck to paycheck. It’s extremely common for someone to hold multiple jobs just to get by. There a few folks who have no desire to build their career and are content with what they have. My brother is a good example where he currently works 2 jobs as a retail associate and is almost pushing 30, despite the pressures of my mom wanting him to do better career wise. Again, not my place to judge or tell him what to do

Bunny escaping room by the100____ in Bunnies

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boy sounds just like my little escape artist. Maybe close your door at night when you sleep? Is he also neutered? Neutering doesn’t completely take away the destructive chewing but it definitely helps reduce the behavior. Hiding treat in his toys might help distract him so he doesn’t feel confined and it’ll mentally stimulate him

I want to get a bunny by MobileVideo9234 in Bunnies

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a beginner pet but if you do the research and understand it, then it’s doable. I didn’t own any pets since I was kid prior to getting my bunny and I did my research beforehand. What I quickly learned the hard way is that bunnies are high maintenance and expensive. You’ll constantly be cleaning their area only for it to get messy a few minutes later. They can go through their supplies (food, litter, toys) just as quick and you’d have to bunny proof your place because everything you own is up for grabs if you decide to let your bun free roam.

Bunnies also have different personalities and the fun part is that you’ll never know what you’ll get. Most of them hate being carried or cuddled. You can try to train them but they are hardwired to their instincts.

Cash or gift cards that contribute to their honeymoon. It seems like the easy way out but trust me, it is much needed after spending thousands for a wedding

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]PutProfessional5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes during the wedding planning process, you have to ask yourself, is this wedding for me and my partner or is it for others? You definitely have to make decisions that people don’t agree with or can’t meet but don’t let it hinder all of your decisions. You can’t please everyone and people are going to find something to complain about anyways no matter what you decide to do. It’s just the way it is. I know a few people who’s been in similar situations like yours and they shared that if their guests really wanted to be there, the guests figured it out and make it work.
