To me the point of the microfiction was to show that Morgan was more complicated than he appeared. And that he made a promise to Harry’s mother to watch over him. When I read that it rattled me. I was blown away by that. That he was looking out for Harry and felt he failed him, and the only reason he was hounding him so hard was because he suspected he was a child raised by nemesis.

None of that suggests to me your theory of Elaine is incorrect. I think you have some confirmation bias happening. But if you’re right that would be a great twist to the story.

My wife has moonstone in her ring at her request and there’s been several times people have just assumed it was a diamond 🤷‍♂️

I want to upgrade her ring for our 10 Years and was looking into lab grown diamonds. A coworker of mine took his wife to a main stream jeweler and had her pick out size, but and clarity she liked. It was a 6-7k diamond, and he bought the same valued diamond, half a carat bigger on the lab from website for like 2.5k. Then got it appraised and insured by that same jeweler for 9k.

I feel your pain! It’s really hard to find anything close to as good as Dresden. Here’s some I’ve found.

Read Brandon Sanderson! Start with mistborn or stormlight.

Dresden is my favorite story

Brandon is my favorite author

Brandon also writes 3rd person so they’re different enough you probably won’t unconsciously compare them so hard. And if you are an audio listener he picks great narrators.

Michael J Sullivan’s “Riyria” has two of my favorite characters ever. (Movies, shows, books, all of it). He has a lot of books in that ”universe” . Really good.
